getting qbmapi64 out of memory error on windows 11

So many comments from multiple QuickBooks support people,

WAY too many steps, and still no work around from Intuit support team.

Not the first time I have experienced scripted answers that don't work for me.

FWIW, I use Windows 11 Pro 64 on VMWare virtual machine.

That's where MY QBDT 2024 Accountant's version is installed.

Here's what I did and it seems to be working OK for me so I can edit my invoice e-mail message templates and send out my QB invoices with a view and pay link.

I couldn't edit existing email message templates and QBDT 2024 was crashing quite regularly while trying send out my invoices.

I searched the error online and found this website:

qbdataservice.com/blog/qbmapi64-out-of-memory-error/

They have 6 steps listed.

TLDR: Use step 4

I had already done Steps 1, 2 and 3 before looking for possible fix.

Here's Step 5 direct from the website page:

Step 4: Adjust Virtual Memory Settings

Virtual memory acts as an extension of your physical memory (RAM). Adjusting its settings can sometimes rectify memory-related errors.

(I've re-typed the bullet points )

Right click on the Start button and select "System".

Click "About," then select "System info" under the Related settings.

Click "Advanced system settings" on the right pane.

In the System Properties window, under the "Advanced" tab, click "Settings' in the Performance section.

In the Performance Options window, go to the "Advanced" tab and select "Change" in the Virtual memory section.

Uncheck "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives."

Select the drive where Windows is installed Usually C:).

Click "Custom size" and enter the values for the Initial and Maximum size. Microsoft provides guidelines for these values based on your system's RAM.

Click "Set," then "OK," and reboot your computer.

FWIW my Windows recommended min and max memory sizes are 16mb and 1919mb, so that's what I put in the custom size settings.

I'll use Step 5, however I will not use Step 6.

I've not ever had success "re-installing QBDT" to correct poor program construction by Intuit programmers.

No more issues (SO FAR) for QBDT 2024 Accountant's version for me.

I suggest you try it, if it works for your situation, OK.

If it doesn't then reverse the Step 5 changes you made and put your computer back on "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives."

Good luck!

I see a typo in my original post.

It's Step 4 to use, not step 5.

sorry...

FWIW the correct QB nomenclature is "QuickBooks Accountant Desktop Plus 2024"
