Join nowHello there. I can provide instructions on how to fix issues with sending emails in QuickBooks, creativenikki.
Let's begin by ensuring your QuickBooks software is updated to the latest version. QuickBooks periodically provides maintenance releases and product updates to fix emailing concerns, add features and enhancements, and update compliance information. Here's how you can update QuickBooks Desktop:
Once done, you can check your webmail settings in the preferences. Here's how to do it:

This solved it for me. (Revert Office Version down.)
Good workaround while Quickbooks/Microsoft sort their stuff out.
Thank you.
After following your instruction, nothing was resolved. Can't even send a single invoice now without it crashing and saying out of memory. If this is not resolved today, after 13 years of using Quickbooks, I will be finding and utilizing other accounting software. It has been a WEEK. Time is valuable, and I do NOT have time to be researching failed fixes on this forum or to talk to people from India that cut out due to poor connections. Ridiculous, 4 times the price and 1/100 the service
This did not work for me. I'm using gmail to send the forms and when I go to edit the preferences the options you describe are not there. Nevertheless, just opening the send forms preferences has caused QB to crash twice in the last 2 minutes. I can't even really edit the preferences.
We appreciate you for getting back here in the thread. Let us route you back to the support that can help you resolve the issue you're experiencing.

It has now been a full week of this out of memory issue. Have spoken to three overseas reps and nothing has been resolved after hours of trouble shooting, including uninstalling and reinstalling Quickbooks Pro 2024. It crashes the program every time after 1 invoice, receipt, or overdue notice is sent. Come on QB!!! Please fix this.
I have the same issue!
Thanks for getting involved with this thread, JKO16.
I've reviewed our ongoing/solved investigations and can confirm there's currently an ongoing investigation about subscribers encounter a "qbmapi64 out of memory" message after updating to Windows 11.
While our Product Investigations team continues to research this, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team, mentioning the situation, and that you'd like to be added to Intuit's ongoing investigation as an affected user. This ensures you'll receive email notifications about any updates relating to the case.
They can be reached while using QuickBooks.
Here's how:
Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.
You can also reach them outside of QuickBooks if necessary.
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any questions. Have an awesome Monday!
I am on Desktop 2021. Yesterday, I sent an invoice via email through Outlook no problem. Then I did it again, and now I am getting the out of memory error. Absolutely nothing changed. The second invoice to be sent was only a couple minutes after I emailed the first one perfectly fine and as usual.
Hello there, SchemmelCo. Allow me to go into detail about this issue that you're experiencing.
As per checking, I've found an ongoing investigation (INV-99923) regarding customers, receiving the out of memory error. However, it only impacts 2022 and later versions. I recommend contacting our support team for you to be added to the list of affected users and receive email updates. Here's an article on how to reach out to them: Contact QuickBooks Desktop Support.
Meanwhile, I suggest consulting your IT professional to move off the Office 365 update Current Channel (preview) over to the Current Channel which only gets fully tested public releases. You can refer to this article for the detailed instructions from Microsoft: Unable to send emails from QuickBooks using Outlook Desktop after Update to Version 2402.
Just a heads up that QuickBooks Desktop 2021 is a discontinued version. Check this out for more information: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy.

AGAIN, I HAVE BUSINESS GMAIL. SAME ISSUE
We are going on 2 full weeks with this error. What is the current status? I have done everything you've recommended; I've called multiple times. We have reinstalled QB multiple times at this point. None of that has made any difference and I'm really fed up. When will this be resolved? Does anyone know what the actual problem even is? I am not using outlook, so updated or undoing updates to Outlook isn't going to impact me. I use gmail. Enough excuses... where is the actual fix for this?
It appears that it may be necessary to switch accounting software providers. There are other fish in the sea, and Quick books has neglected this issue and keeps reiterating useless information in regards a "fix" I have easily spent 20 plus hours on this issue, spoken to three reps, followed every instruction and it does nothing. I need to email around 30-40 invoices and receipts daily. And you get one invoice out and then it crashes, so roughly 20 crashes "Out of Memory" error EVERY DAY for going on close to 2 week
Yes, I called QB twice and they setup a webmail for me that worked on 1 invoice, and I got the error again.
I lost entire day of work on repairing the file and reinstalling the QB.
I was told that I will be notified when the issue is fixed but they did not give me the ETA.
This is urgent! We need this resolved ASAP. They should compensate us for this issue!
I'm in same boat paddling upstream. I'm going to be looking at other software before 2025 comes to see what's available. I'm going to have to do something different. I'm just a two person very small business and Intuit's pricing goes up every year. Direct Deposit fee for each paycheck is now $4.00 and my clients are questioning me about it. To help pay for the increase in the software renewal this year, I'm going to have to charge a flat "software fee" to my clients. They are not going to be happy about it.
I agree on the compensation. Renewal went up and we are having more problems here in 2024 than we've ever had in the last 25 + years .
Hello all. I wish you didn't have to go through all those challenges to get the error fixed.
Upon checking here, we have an ongoing investigation (INV-99923) wherein customers encounter a qbmapi64 Out of Memory error while using Outlook. I understand how important it is to resolve this as soon as possible. Our engineers are aware of it and are currently working on a fix.
Since you're using Gmail but still encounter the same error message, creativenikki, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks support team. They can check the root cause of the issue and provide further information.
If you send your invoices using Outlook, you can set QuickBooks preferences to webmail and enter the email server settings under "Other" or choose an option like Gmail, depending on your email service, Out Of Memory Error, and VDS. Another alternative is to save the invoice as a PDF, then open Outlook and manually attach the file to send.
On the other hand, since you already set up webmail but the error persists, JKO16, I recommend you save your invoice as a PDF, open your Outlook, and manually attach the file to send alternatively.
Furthermore, you can contact our QuickBooks support if you'd like to receive an email update on the investigation and be added to the list of affected users,
For future reference, if you've received a payment from your customer, it's important to record it in QuickBooks. It will mark the invoices as paid and will make it easier for you to track your outstanding and paid invoices.
We appreciate your patience and understanding while we investigate this matter further. We will keep you informed of any updates and solutions. If you have any other concerns, please tap the reply button. I'm always here to help.
WHERE IS THE FIX?
This post is absolutely useless. I also use Gmail and if you had bothered to read any of the several posts I made, you would know that I have contacted Quickbooks techs on three separate occasions with absolutely nothing resolved. The issue is identical "Out Of Memory" qbmapi64. At this point, I am considering legal action as I have lost extremely valuable time and I know MANY others have as well.
I am also having this issue. Had been using web-mail...tried adding a gmail and that didn't work either. Now I can't even send one invoice using Quickbooks. This needs to be fixed NOW!
I appreciate you joining the thread and letting us know you're experiencing the same issue in a detailed way, Carrie. I understand how valuable your time is, and I regret any wasted efforts in trying to fix the concern. Allow me to share some information about this and assist you in performing the appropriate steps.
Upon checking here, we have an ongoing investigation (INV-99923) wherein customers encounter a qbmapi64 Out of Memory error while using Outlook. In the meantime, the best action to take is to contact our Customer Care Support Team, and they'll know that you've experienced the same issue and added to the affected user lists. As a workaround, you can consult your IT professional for help on how to get the latest current, public release of Office 365, which is version 2401 build 17231.20236. To find your build number, open Outlook, select File, Office account, and About Outlook.

I was on chat with them last week about this & was told that they have been working on this for over a month. They could not give me a timeline...
How do you do a work around for sending invoices?
I ended up switching my send forms preference to Quickbooks mail. It is pretty funny. Every time I send an email a little window opens up saying it is connecting to the internet (kind of like what dial up used to do). Anyway, so far it hasn't crashed qb when sending emails and I send 10-20 daily through QB. I haven't tried to send email in batches.
I should also say that I have gotten the out of memory error other times and not just when sending email so I don't think it is a just an email not working with outlook issue. I am also running Windows 10 and not 11 so that is not the issue either. They messed up something in their last update that is causing this and they have no idea how to fix it; otherwise it would have been addressed by now.
Welcome to the Community, @mmayne.
