Welcome to the Community, sboucher.

Thanks for reaching out to us about your direct deposit concern. I’ll guide you on how to correct the routing number for your employee’s bank account.

Since the information is incorrect, we’ll have to enter the right one in the employee’s profile. This is to ensure the worker will receive the paycheck.

Here’s how:

  1. Tap the Payroll menu to select Employees.
  2. From the list, click on the worker’s name to view more details.
  3. Go to the Employee details column and click the Pencil icon for Pay.  dd qbo.png
  4. Navigate to the How do you want to pay section and enter the new routing number.dd qbo1.png
  5. Click Save and Done.

In QuickBooks, you can cancel, delete or void a direct deposit paycheck after they're submitted. The tasks will depend on your processing time and payroll service.

To accomplish this task, follow the recommended steps in this article and select QuickBooks Online Payroll Enhanced: Delete or void If you send the paycheck.

If you send the paycheck today, you’ll still be able to delete and recreate it using the new routing number. However, if it was processed yesterday, I recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team for payroll correction. Click here to get the contact details and then choose QuickBooks Online Payroll.
