I would like Quickbooks to automatically pay my payroll taxes and do my filings. However, there is 1 filing that I would like to do manually since the form that Quickbooks produced is incorrect. Is there a way that I can just disable that 1 filing so Quickbooks doesn't automatically file it incorrectly?
(The filing is incorrect because my client is a nonprofit and nonprofits gets special tax treatment for Arizona Unemployment Taxes. They can do a reimbursement method and not pay upfront. There is a special way AZ wants the form to be filled out but Quickbooks doesn't do it)
Hi there, agrace1.
I can share some information about automatic payroll filing in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
The option to disable payroll taxes that were already processed electronically isn't available in QuickBooks Online. I'd recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team. This way, they can help you cancel the tax payment.

I don't need to reverse the payroll tax payment.
I just want to disable the automatic filing for one filing - the Arizona Unemployment Tax filing. I still need Quickbooks to automatically file my IRS Form 941 and AZ Quarterly Payroll Tax Filing.
Thanks for elaborating on what you want to achieve, @agrace1.
To disable automatic filing for one period, you can turn this feature off to give you more control over making your tax payments and filing forms.

Is there a way that I can pick and choose what I want to be automated vs. manual? Or is it all or nothing? For example, if I want payroll taxes to be paid automatically, federal forms to be filed automatically, and state to be filed manually, all for the same period, is that possible?
Hi there, @agrace1. I can provide more insights about payroll filing in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Once you've enabled the automatic filing of your payroll taxes, your federal, state, and local taxes will be filed automatically. The option to file the state tax manually won't be available if the feature is on. Thus, you need to disable the automatic filing to submit the taxes manually. I understand that you still want Intuit to manage your other payroll taxes except for Arizona Unemployment Taxes. For now, I'd recommend introducing this idea to our product developers so they can consider this in future updates. Rest assured they're working nonstop to enhance the product and deliver the best experiences for all QuickBooks users.
Here's how:
Once submitted, you can track your request through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.
