Delete an E-paid Record on QB

My client has a biweekly payroll period. For period 11/14/2020 -11/27/2020, I found that QB had an incorrected calculation on the 941 tax payment, which was overpaid, after I summited the e-paid. I went to the EFPTS Web and canceled scheduled payment that created by QB, then re-paid the corrected payment on the web.  For the 941 amounts on QB for later payroll periods, I have to adjust every time because they are reduced by the prior overpayment ,which is still recorded on QB.

So, how do I delete the prior incorrected e-paid record on QB to make sure the amount on Form 941 Q4 2020 is corrected?

Delete an E-paid Record on QB

Hello, lulu09. I'm here to share some insights about deleting a prior tax payment on Quickbooks Desktop.

You can void the e-payment recorded in QuickBooks Desktop. Simply open the e-payment, right-click, and then click on Void. However, if QBDT won't allow you to void it, I would recommend contacting our Payroll Support Team. One of our specialists can securely pull up your account and can further assist you with this.

Here's how you to reach out to them:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Select Search for something else.
  5. Enter delete a prior e-payment in the Tell us more about your question: field.
  6. Click Start a Message.

I've got you these articles on how to manage tax payments in QBDT:

Delete an E-paid Record on QB

Hello, GlinetteC. Thank you for your reply.

I have one more question that after I void the e-payment, do I have to write a check for the e-payment with a corrected amount on QB to adjust the Form 941 Q4 2020?
