I cannot process second quarter payroll forms. I get Printing erroe 10004

I'd like to share some details about this error, farmphil.

If you access your QuickBooks Desktop remotely, here are a few possible reasons why this error occurs:

• The tax table form files have gone missing or have become damaged. This can happen if the download or installation of the latest tax table is incomplete or corrupted.
• QuickBooks payroll subscription has expired. To print the forms, you must have an active payroll subscription.

To resolve this error, make sure your QuickBooks Desktop is updated to the latest release and payroll tax table. I've got these articles for the instructions:

Then, visually check any invalid characters, such as # or blank spaces on active/inactive items of the following lists: 

• Company Information
• Vendor List
• Employee Name List
• Payroll Item List
• Chart of Accounts

I'm having the exact same problem. I don't remote access, and it has auto updates. Since you say you have an ongoing investigation, I'll check back in a few days and hope they've solved it.

I am also using QB desktop and having the same problem - I have restarted my computer updated the software for QB all payroll is updated and still getting the same message.  Hoping by tomorrow maybe they will have a fix for this as we need to get our quarterly payroll reports going!  

They seem to have fixed it. There was an update this morning, and afterwards I was able to make it happen. Thank you.

Try it now, it looks like there's an update and it seems to have corrected the problem we were having.

As per checking, the Printing Error 10004 only affects those in the Right Networks hosted environment. Our developers are already investigating this issue. For now, it's best to reach out to our Technical Team so you'll receive updates about this.

1. Go to the Help menu and select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
2. Click on Contact Us.
3. Choose either Get Phone Number button or Message Us.

Also, you'll want to update your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release since this also helps other users.

Since you're still having this error, let’s update your payroll tax table and QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to the latest release to isolate this. Let me walk you through the steps.

1. Go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.

3. Click Get Updates to start the download.
4. When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.
