payroll summary report using classes in QB desktop

I have read prior discussion on community board regarding using class in the payroll summary report.  I have the same problem that is discussed and NOT resolved -- the payroll summary report does not show the withholdings once you go to customize ~ filter~ class.

I need to reimburse one fund from another for the exact withholdings

payroll summary report using classes in QB desktop

Hi Gerard6689,

I was able to replicate this by running the payroll summary report, filtered one class, and I could see both the state and federal withholdings. Let's check to see if you're just having data issue-flow issues.

You'll want to run the Verify and Rebuild data utilities. We use these tools to check for damaged transactions or data, and then the rebuild utility will fix it.

Please feel free to share an update after running the tools. Have a good one!

the steps that you recommended were followed and all data was verified with no problems.  I have tracked the class delineation throughout the payroll process.  There is NO problem with the payroll.  The problem comes in the "Report - Payroll Summary".  As before - none of the employee withholdings are shown -- NO FED, STATE WHITHHOLDINGS, NO SOCIAL SECURITY WITHHOLDINGS, NO MEDICARE WITHHOLDINGS, etc.

I need the breakdown of the withholdings in order to properly expense the costs to the proper funds

Thanks for getting back to us, Gerard.

The data on your report could be damaged. That's why you aren't seeing the employees' withholdings.

You can run the Verify and Rebuild Data as mentioned by JessT to isolate the issue. If you're getting the same results, you can perform the following solution.

After updating QuickBooks and the tax table, restart your computer for changes to take effect. Then, run again the Payroll Summary report.

If the report still does not show withholdings, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Team. They can create a case to investigate the issue.

I'm also adding this link for some helpful tips: Find out how to track account balances using different classes in QuickBooks Desktop.

Keep me posted if there's anything else you need about using class in the Payroll Summary report. Just leave a comment below, and I'll get back to you.
