Payroll Transfer To client so they can write checks

I do payroll for a client who uses QBDT. I want to do the payroll then transfer the information to them so they can write the payroll checks. Is there a way to a payroll run after posting to employees but before writing the checks and making tax deposits.

Payroll Transfer To client so they can write checks

I'm here to share some details about doing payroll for your client, KC25827.

In QuickBooks Desktop, only the client can process payroll in their account. Although there are some restrictions, you can still process tax forms in an Accountant's Copy.

To know more about other Accountant's Copy workflows and general information, see the Accountant's copy overview.

Additionally, I've added these articles that'll help your client process payroll in QuickBooks Desktop:

Payroll Transfer To client so they can write checks

Several years ago I use to do payroll for my clients and then create a IIF file and transfer the information into their QB.  Were changes made that do not allow this anymore?

Hello KC25827!

Allow me to further assist you in processing payroll.

We're unable to export an IIF file of the payroll data you created in QuickBooks Desktop. You'll want to use a third-party application where you can generate an IIF file that you can send to your client. You can search for one on our QuickBooks Desktop Apps page.

Another way is to let your client manually record the payroll data you processed through a journal entry.
