Join nowI was a desktop payroll user in 2019. I no longer use Quickbooks for payroll. In addition, the computer I used then "blew up" and was replaced.
I need to get copies of my payroll information and all tax filings for that year. How can I access/request these records?
Thanks for the help!
I'm here to help you recover your payroll information, Lillyrocket.
Generally, you can use the backup company file to restore your data with our QuickBooks Desktop trial versin if your computer was crashed. To restore, you can follow the steps below:
To avoid overwriting anything, you can rename your existing company file or the backup so the names are unique. Or you can save the backup in a completely separate folder.
Once done, you'll be able to use the information for your tax filings. Please check this article for more information: Restore A BackUp Of Your Company File. Furthermore, if you're using QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), you can utilize some of our payroll reports to view useful data about your business and employees. I've added this article for your reference: Run Payroll Reports.
Reach out to us if you have any questions about payroll. Remember, we're here to help you anytime.
Thanks for your response. The problem is that as per step 4, the back up file is on a computer that was destroys and I cannot access the data from it.
Are there any other options?
Thanks,
Mitch
Hi Mitch,
Sorry to hear about your computer and your company file records.
The files for QuickBooks Desktop (payroll or non-payroll) can only be accessed on the computer where the software was installed. We don't save copies in the system.
If you used direct deposit, you may try accessing your Workforce account to see some paycheck information, but I wouldn't guarantee that you can see one. I'm unable to access your account from here either since this is a public forum.
You can always go back to this thread if you have other questions.
Hi All,
I have recovered my data and when trying to access old payroll tax filings I forget my password.
I have filled out the "change in Payroll Pin Request" form but am finding it impossible to "contact intuit payroll support" as requested.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks for getting back to us, @Lillyrocket.
I have some information about resetting your payroll pin. You'll have to reach out to our Payroll Support to submit the form and government-issued ID via Intuit File Exchange.
Here's how:
