I have an "Action required:  Cross this task off your to do list before to run payroll on time ... view paycheck list" on my home screen.  The To Do List says Looks like you’re all caught up.  It's almost payroll reporting time, and I need to correct this issue so payroll will be on time.

Thanks for following up on this thread. I'd be glad to provide some info about the action required notification.

 

These types of alerts require some sort of action such as recording a tax payment, or if something different is stated, to be removed. Since your To Do List says that you're all caught up, I recommend reaching out to a member of the Support Team. An agent has specialized tools, like screen-sharing, to take a closer look at your account and determine what's causing this notice to appear. Here's how to contact an agent:

 

1. Click the Help button in the top right corner.

2. Select Contact Us.

3. Enter Support in the field and choose Let's talk.

4. From here you can select to receive a callback at a time that's convenient for you.

Action required for payroll checklist

Hello,

It's payroll time again, and the Action Required message is still on my homescreen.  I did call someone a couple of weeks ago who told me to ignore this as he could not see it on his end when he looked at our account.  When I click on view paycheck list, it brings up the list of all the paychecks processed on the last pay period.  I can continue to ignore this, but there must be a glitch somewhere as it never goes away, yet I am able to process payroll.

It’s good to know that you could do your payroll tasks. Normally, messages won’t affect payroll functions because they are mostly reminders.

 

We’ll take a look this further with help from Support again. We won’t just let you ignore it, so you can’t develop the habit of ignoring real Action-Required messages in the future. 

 

By the way, if you haven't done the browser troubleshooting steps with the agent, please give them a try. We've received reports that random task messages are resolved by doing these steps.

 

To start, you’ll want to sign in to QuickBooks in a private window. This disables the cache from saving new data, and it’s a good initial step to check browser issues. If the message will not appear, you can go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If it’s still there, you can try other browsers to isolate the case.

 

I'm also sharing your experience with the relevant departments, so we can strongly standardize the best approach for issues like this.

Received State notice of Form Delinquency  for DE9C report for 9/30/22.  Checked and it had already been sent.

In this case, I encourage you to call our payroll support team so they can view your account and find a possible fix to this issue. 

 

Please see the steps below:

 

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Click the? Help button at the top right corner.
  3. Go to the Search tab, then select Contact Us.
  4. Enter a brief discussion with your concern, then click Continue.
  5. Choose to Get a callback to connect to us.
