Can someone help me with verifying my account for direct deposit? I do not have a 'Company' option under Payroll Settings.

QB has sent the test amount to the bank, but I do not have a 'To Do' item to continue.

Can someone help me with verifying my account for direct deposit? I do not have a 'Company' option under Payroll Settings.

Hi there, @jluce.

Good to see you here in QuickBooks Community. I'm here to help and provide some insights about verifying your test transaction in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

After signing up for a Direct Deposit, Intuit makes two small withdrawals of less than $1.00 each from the bank account you set up. A test transaction should appear in your bank account in 2 business days. You can verify the amount either by checking your bank statement online or by calling your bank.

Once done, you can follow these steps to confirm the amount and activate your Direct Deposit. For QBO Payroll Enchanced:

  1. Select Payroll menu then Employees.
  2. Click Finish payroll tasks on the main Employees page.
  3. Select Verify the test deposit now.
  4. Enter the test transaction amount in both boxes (less than $1.00). Enter the pennies only, without a dollar sign or decimal point.

If there's no New payroll tasks button, here's another way to verify test transactions:

  1. Go to Settings, then choose Payroll Settings.
  2. Under Bank Accounts, select Company.
  3. Click Verify Account, then enter and confirm the amount.

Please take note that you only get one attempt to verify your test transaction. If you aren't successful, contact Payroll Support for assistance.

For other QBO Payroll versions, follow the steps in this article: How to verify a test transaction made to your bank account.

After you successfully activate direct deposit, you can refer to the support articles below to run your payroll:

Hi jluce,

Hope you’re doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about verifying my account's test Direct Deposit concern you had yesterday. Was it resolved?

Can someone help me with verifying my account for direct deposit? I do not have a 'Company' option under Payroll Settings.

Hello Reymond, and thank you for your reply!

I am still not able to verify it. I do not have a Company option under Settings>Payroll Settings>Bank Account, and there is nothing until Payroll>Overview or Payroll>Employees that asks for verification. There is, under Payroll>Overview>Make Your Next Payroll A Breeze, an option to connect a Bank Account, which is what I went to when I started to set up Direct Deposit, and that is how I received the small deposit in the account, that I can't verify. Interestingly, the bank account has been connected since the start of this QBO file a couple years ago, but I thought perhaps it was still necessary to go through those steps to set this up. Please help, what might I be missing?

Thanks for responding to our follow-ups, @jluce. To make sure you're able to confirm the test amount successfully, please ensure you're logged in as the admin of the account.

If you're still unable to see the Company option, we can use a private or incognito window to isolate the issue. It could be that you're experiencing a browser-related issue.

 Here's how:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

If that works, that means your browser cache is already full. Your next step is to go back to your main browser, then clear your browser's cache to remove temporary internet files stored in it that cause the issue.

If the issue persists, I'd recommend contacting our Payroll Support team for further assistance.

For future reference, read through this article to help you learn more about how to pay your employees on time with direct deposit: Understanding lead times and your payroll submission days.

Update us here at any time so we can find a better way to fix your direct deposit issue. Take care!

I have all the options to verify my account but unfortunately, no small transactions are in that account. There's nothing pending or settled and it's been a few days.

Hi there, shanbot.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing details on how confirming your account works when setting up for Direct Deposit. Then, ensure you'll be routed to the right support team to assist you further with this matter.

As mentioned above, after signing up for a Direct Deposit, Intuit makes two small withdrawals of less than $1.00 each from the bank account you set up. A test transaction should appear in your bank account in 2 business days. Since you have all the options to verify your account but still there are no small transactions are in that account, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Payroll Team. They can pull up your account to investigate the cause of the said matter and initiate new test debits.

Once you have already seen the amount in your bank statement, you can check out this article on how to enter the amount to confirm and activate your Direct Deposit: Verify Test Transaction.

Lastly, you may open this article to view various information on how to fix the possible error message about direct deposit limits when you process payroll in QuickBooks: Get help if you’re over a direct deposit limit.

Please update this thread on how the call goes. I want to make sure you're taken care of, and I'll be right here if you need other help with QuickBooks. Have a good one.
