Join nowHello there, @rawgen,
Right now, you can only sort the Payroll Summary by Employee report by the employee's full name.
I've added these articles for additional guidance with payroll reports in QuickBooks Online:

Is there a way to print the payroll summary by employee number. We have a client that has 50 employees and they give us their payroll information each week by employee number, not name. The payroll summary prints by name (each employee has been assigned a number) so when reviewing the summary against the hours, etc from the client, it is out of order and is quite time consuming - can we print something by employee number to review. Seems like a lot of people would be interested in this.
Hi Lisa.
I appreciate you for joining the thread.
Yes, you can print the employee number from QuickBooks by adding it to the Notes section. I can guide you on how.
Then, open the Employee Details report, to see the employee number details.
Once you generate the Payroll Summary by Employee Report, you can now match their names to the numbers reflected on the Employee Details report. If you want to export or print the report, choose your option from the Share drop-down.

Sorry I should have been more clear - I am using QB desktop not online.
Hello again, @Lisa galvin. Thanks for getting back and confirming the QuickBooks version you're using.
In QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), you can run the Payroll Item Detail report to show the Employee I.D number as it's not possible in Payroll Summary.
To pull up the report, here's how:
From there, the report will show payroll transactions on which each payroll item appears as well as the Employee ID of the employee.
