Holiday Pay is being paid at a regular rate

Hello,

I use Quickbooks Time to track employee hours. In Quickbooks time, I have set up holiday pay with 1.5 rate multiplier. When these hours are imported into Quickbooks Online Advanced, the paycheck reflects a regular rate for holiday hours. I cannot find a way to modify the rate and when I called support they instructed me to add a new custom rate. To test this, I added a new custom rate for one employee labeled "Holiday" in QuickBooks Online and manually entered the rate as 1.5x their current pay. This would be very cumbersome if I have to manually calculate every employee's holiday pay rate and change it each time they receive a raise. Is there a way to have Quickbooks automatically set the rate at time and a half?

To further complicate things, when I navigate back to Quickbooks Time and go to adjust the payroll mapping, it does not display the custom rate as an option for holiday pay. So far, I cannot find any way to ensure my employees are being paid the correct rate for the hours they work on holidays.

I am certain the answer is far simpler than I realize and I would greatly appreciate any guidance.

Best Regards,

Ryan

Holiday Pay is being paid at a regular rate

Hi there, @AbilityUnited. Thanks for informing us that you have already contacted our Care Support team about this.

I can see that you've been working on displaying the Holiday pay option with the custom rate. And I appreciate that you've come to the Community to seek further help and advice. To get everything flowing in QuickBooks Online Advanced seamlessly, you'll have to configure advanced overtime settings in QuickBooks Time and click Use Pay Rate Settings.

You can enter the Setting Name and assign it either to the whole team by making it a Default Setting or allocating it to a team member by choosing No team member assigned. Then you'll have to save it.

In the Pay Rate Engine window, ensure to select the setting and use the Holiday type to apply the rate multiplier to any time worked on one or more particular dates after you click the Add Rule button. I'm adding this article for the precise details: Configure and change advanced overtime settings in QuickBooks Time.

Once you have saved the setup, you can map QuickBooks payroll items to QuickBooks Time.

Please let me know if you have additional questions about this or any QuickBooks payroll-related concerns. I'm always here to help you out. Take care and have a nice day.

Holiday Pay is being paid at a regular rate

Hello,

Thank you for such a quick response! I already had all of that set up in Quickbooks Time. My holiday pay is set to a 1.5x time multiplier in Quickbooks Time but when it imports to QuickBooks Online Advance the paystub reflects a regular pay rate. How can I fix this?

Holiday Pay is being paid at a regular rate

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to help you fix the issue, AbilityUnited.

There are times your browser is full of frequently accessed page resources that may cause some unusual responses. To isolate this, You can log into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in a private window (incognito). Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome).
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox).
  • Control Option (Safari).

Once signed in, you check if it's already showing the correct pay rate. If so, return to your default browser to clear the cache to speed up the loading process. Every so often the cache becomes overwhelmed with older data which can potentially cause viewing and performance issues. Clearing it will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with a clean slate. However, if the issue persists, try using other supported browsers.

Additionally, in case you'll encounter printing problems you may want to update Adobe Reader. To learn more, I've added this article for more information: How To Update, Repair, Or Re-install Adobe Reader/Acrobat
