How do I run a mileage report from Quick Books Online? I have manually entered my business miles per day.

Hey there, @kjstrac.

Running a mileage report is a breeze. I'd be pleased to walk you through how to do this.

In QuickBooks Online, the mileage report can be pulled up by clicking on the Download Trip button from the Trips page. This will open a report in Excel file that shows all the trips that you've entered.

To do that, just open the trips page and press on Download Trips. Please see the screenshot attached for your reference:

To give you more insights about the different reports that you can pull up in the system, you can always read through this link: Learn which reports are available for your version of QuickBooks Online.

Know that you can always get back to me here should you need anything else. I'll be around to lend a helping hand. Have a nice day!

I appreciate the screenshot you've shared, @shawnnamutambi-g.

I understand the benefit of being able to generate a detailed mileage report in your QuickBooks account. Currently, you can click on the View Vehicle link in the Mileage Dashboard. From here, you'd be routed to page where you can see a list of vehicles you've use to track your business-related mileage. You can refer to the screenshot below:

Also, I'd recommend visiting our QuickBooks Blog so you'd be updated once new enhancements in the mileage feature is available.

Lastly, you can read through these articles to learn more about this new mileage feature:

Feel free to leave your comments below if you have other questions or concerns about using QuickBooks. I'm just a few clicks away.

I am currently a bit frustrated trying to run a report for mileage for a specific person. I have tagged all the trips, but I am unable to pull up a date range and all the trips that I ran for this person. Can you help?

I'm here to share some details about the mileage report, Tania Julian

In QuickBooks, you can only click the View Vehicle link to pull up the list of the trips you've tracked in the program. Also, you can customize the date by clicking on Fiscal year, then click Custom. This helps you filter the correct period of the trips.

I would also recommend adding more details on the page you are currently at on QuickBooks. Adding a screenshot would be better too. This helps us further provide accurate steps to view all the trips.

Additionally, I've added additional articles that will help you learn more about mileage tracking:

Small problem. That button, Download Trips, doesn't exist on mine.

I've chosen 2021, since that's the year I want to export to excel.

Thanks for the attached screenshot, @frontieroverland.

I have more steps we can try. Let's access your account using a private browser or an incognito window. This is to check if the missing Download Trips button has something to do with the browser you're using or your subscription. This browsing doesn’t store data and will help the page load without issues from temporary data.

Let me guide you how:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox).
  • Press Command + Shift + N (Safari).

Make sure to log in as the Account Admin. If you're able to view the button, follow these steps to export your mileage data.

  1. Go to the Mileage or Trips menu.
  2. Select Download Trips.

QuickBooks downloads your trips to your computer as a CSV file. It should be in your Downloads folder. Refer to this article for more information: Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Online.

Next,  clear the cache of your regular browser to start on a clean slate. This process helps the browser to fetch the latest version of the webpage and a faster browsing experience.

However, if you're still unable to view the download button, please contact our Customer Care Support so we can investigate further. Here's how to reach out:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter a brief description of the issue, then tap Continue.
  4. Click either Chat with us or Have us call you.

I'm also adding this link here in case you encounter issues tracking mileage: Fix mileage tracking issues in the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

Let me know how it goes after trying the above steps as I want to ensure this is resolved for you. Take care and have a great day ahead.

Didn't resolve the issue. Tried to Chat, but they never got back to me either. Will have to call sometime when I get time for that kind of commitment.

Tried different computers even. I don't think it's a browser issue or anything on my end. Not a subscription issue either as it says under mileage reporting for my subscription level:

  • Get shareable reports that break down miles driven and potential deductions

Hi there, PaulaK Home Sales.

I'd like to share some information about the download trips button in QuickBooks Online.

As mentioned by my colleague ShiellaGraceA, you'll need to make sure that you're logged in as primary or company admin to be able to see the button.

Here's an article for more information about the types of users in QuickBooks Online: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

I also suggest following the steps given by my colleague above on how to contact our support team for further assistance.

Let me know if you still have other concerns about downloading trips. I'll be here to help. Have a good one.

Try the dropdown arrow next to Add Trip. Looks like they moved a lot of stuff around. I don't see custom date range anywhere.
