Currently, our engineering team is working hard to fix this issue. There's a newly opened investigation with the case code INV-41507, where customers were unable to receive a copy of their 1099 forms sent by their clients.
Please contact our Customer Care Support to attach your account to the investigation. That way, you will receive a notification via email when our engineering team has fixed the issue.
Here's how to contact support through QB Assistant:
Our supports are available every Monday-Friday from 6:00 am-6:00 pm and Saturday from 6:00 am-3:00 pm.
Please know that you can leave a message anytime to this post if you need more assistance. I'm always here to help. Take care!
I am trying to retrieve my 1099 form from a client but there is no way to retrieve it on the site. Please instruct me on how to retrieve my 1099's or email them to me directly at [email address removed]. I can also be reached via phone at [removed].
It'd be a pleasure to help you retrieve the 1099 form, lawrencesarpong.

This problem still exists a year later! The email from my client sent me to QB SE. I am a bookkeeper and have had and Intuit account forever. The Client option and Documents option are not on this screen that is now asking me to create a new subscription to QB SE. I use QB desktop for my own books and do not intend to create another separate Intuit account just to receive the 1099 efiled and sent by my clients.
The Community has got your back, @joyhardi.
Viewing 1099 sent by your clients requires the use of the QuickBooks Self-Employed version. This does not mean that you need to subscribe for a new subscription. However, if you don't want to use the QuickBooks Self-Employed version, you can directly reach out to your client to get a copy.
Refer to these easy steps below to view 1099 sent by your client:
Check it here for more info about the process: Fill out a W-9 and view your 1099-MISC in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
I also encourage you to visit our QBSE Help page. From there, you can browse articles or get some ideas from other QuickBooks users and experts. This way, you'll get more insights that can help you with your QuickBooks tasks.
Fill me in if you have further questions about viewing 1099 sent by your client. I'm just a post away and willing to help you in any way I can. Have a great day ahead.
I already have an Intuit account and am not going to create another one. I have solved my own problem by signing in to my clients QBOE and printing my 1099 from there.
