I can't find where to view / print my 1099. Help says go to Documents, but I don't see that anywhere. The link my client sent me, the window to view is empty.

Thanks for posting to the Community, @cb-bell.

Currently, our engineering team is working hard to fix this issue. There's a newly opened investigation with the case code INV-41507, where customers were unable to receive a copy of their 1099 forms sent by their clients.

Please contact our Customer Care Support to attach your account to the investigation. That way, you will receive a notification via email when our engineering team has fixed the issue.

Here's how to contact support through QB Assistant:

  1. Please follow the step for your device:
Web browser: Select Assistant from the top menu.
iPhone or iPad: Tap the button on the dashboard, then select Ask QB Assistant.
Android: Tap the chat bubble icon on any screen.
  2. Enter or say "Talk to a human." (if it still routes you to an article, select I still need a human)
  3. Choose to Start a chat/Get a callback.

Our supports are available every Monday-Friday from 6:00 am-6:00 pm and Saturday from 6:00 am-3:00 pm.

Please know that you can leave a message anytime to this post if you need more assistance. I'm always here to help. Take care!

I am trying to retrieve my 1099 form from a client but there is no way to retrieve it on the site. Please instruct me on how to retrieve my 1099's or email them to me directly at [email address removed]. I can also be reached via phone at [removed].

It'd be a pleasure to help you retrieve the 1099 form, lawrencesarpong.

Please make sure you have accepted the invite sent to you by the client. Then, follow the instructions below:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account here: https://selfemployed.intuit.com/login.
  2. Go to the Documents section, and then view and print your 1099 form.

For reference with the information above, you can open this article: 1099s in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Feel free to comment here if you have any additional questions. Have a good one!

This problem still exists a year later!  The email from my client sent me to QB SE.  I am a bookkeeper and have had and Intuit account forever.  The Client option and Documents option are not on this screen that is now asking me to create a new subscription to QB SE.  I use QB desktop for my own books and do not intend to create another separate Intuit account just to receive the 1099 efiled and sent by my clients.

The Community has got your back, @joyhardi.

Viewing 1099 sent by your clients requires the use of the QuickBooks Self-Employed version. This does not mean that you need to subscribe for a new subscription. However, if you don't want to use the QuickBooks Self-Employed version, you can directly reach out to your client to get a copy.

Refer to these easy steps below to view 1099 sent by your client:

  1. Open the invite email and click the link.
  2. If you have a QuickBooks Self-Employed account, select Sign in. If none, follow the steps to create a limited QuickBooks Self-Employed account. This account has limited features: you can fill out your W-9, submit it, and view your 1099-MISC
  3. Select the Clients tab.
  4. Choose Forms.
  5. View or Download the 1099 form.

Check it here for more info about the process: Fill out a W-9 and view your 1099-MISC in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

I also encourage you to visit our QBSE Help page. From there, you can browse articles or get some ideas from other QuickBooks users and experts. This way, you'll get more insights that can help you with your QuickBooks tasks.

Fill me in if you have further questions about viewing 1099 sent by your client. I'm just a post away and willing to help you in any way I can. Have a great day ahead.

I already have an Intuit account and am not going to create another one.  I have solved my own problem by signing in to my clients QBOE and printing my 1099 from there.
