Welcome to the Community, @Batesville Water

I appreciate you for sharing the exact error code you received after downloading payroll updates in QB Desktop. I've got some steps here to resolve this error.

First off, disable your antivirus on your computer if you have any. Then, ensure that your service info is correct. Here's how:

  1. Restart your computer, then reopen QuickBooks.
  2. Ensure also that your account info is up to date and correct. If not, update it.
  3. Download the latest payroll tax table update.

If you still get the same error, check if your software is registered to ensure you have the latest security and software applications. Here's how:

  1. On your QuickBooks Desktop, press the F2 key to open the Product Information window.
  2. Check beside the license number and ensure that the status is Activated. If it isn't, register your QuickBooks Desktop, then update it to the latest release.
  3. Download the latest payroll tax table update.

If the steps above didn't work for you, I'd suggest you run the repair tool to fix common errors quickly. Then, download the latest payroll tax table update.

I know how important it is for your business to update your QuickBooks and tax table version. These processes will improve the overall performance of the program and provide the most current and accurate rates and calculations for the following: Supported state and federal tax tables, payroll tax forms, and e-file and payment options.

To download the latest maintenance release:

  1. Open the company file.
  2. Tap the Help menu in the upper right and choose Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Go to the Update Now tab and tick the box for Reset Update to remove the previously downloaded releases and click Get Updates.update qbdt.png
  4. Press the OK button to continue.
  5. Once done, close and reopen your QuickBooks to kick off the installation.

To update the tax table:

  1. Press the Employee menu to select Get Payroll Updates.
  2. In the Get Payroll Updates window, tick the radio button for Download entire payroll update.
  3. Then click the Download Latest Update.
  4. Another window will show up when the download is complete.
