Reactivate payroll subscrition

Welcome to the Community, @cbrawt.

 

You’ve come to the right place, I can show you how to reactivate your payroll subscription. As long as you’re billing information is current and you have the supported version of QuickBooks Desktop, Intuit will automatically renew your subscription. Manual renewal may be required if there is an expired credit card on your account.

 

Let me show you how to renew your subscription:

 

  1. In QuickBooks, go to Employees > My Payroll Service > Account/Billing Information.
  2. Sign in using your Intuit Account login if your account information did not auto-populate.
  3. In the Service Information section, select the Reactivate link next to the service status.
  4. Make sure your payroll service is listed. Then choose Proceed to Checkout.
  5. Click a Payment Method, update or add your payment information. Then select Submit.
  6. Push Place Order.
  7. Find Next. And then Return to QuickBooks.
  8. Verify that the reactivation is successful by signing back into Employees > My Payroll Service > Account/Billing Information.  And checking the Service Status.

 

Important: If the service status is blank or is still showing inactive after reactivating, you would need to contact payroll support.

  1. Click Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. In the ways we can connect menu, choose the Get a callback button.
  4. Enter your contact information and pick the Call me button.

I need to reactivate my Quickbooks to finish 2919 W2 and tax filings.  Our business is now closed and has been sold to someone else.  Please advise if I can reactivate for one month or does it have to be renewed for one year.

Hi @DHigdon,

 

I'd recommend you contact our Technical Support team for assistance with reactivating your payroll subscription. 

 

They can pull up your account information within a secure environment, and ensure that you'll only be billed for a month of your payroll subscription, and not otherwise. 

 

Here's how:

  1. On your QuickBooks homepage, go to the Help menu.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Tap the Contact us button.

I have paid to reactivate payroll subscription, but still tells me i beed to do it.

I'll make sure you're able to reactivate your payroll service. Let's start by re-instating your payroll service key.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the QuickBook Home Page.
  2. On your keyboard, press CTRL+K.
  3. If you see your payroll service keys and Status is Inactive, take note of your payroll service key numbers.
  4. Hit Edit, then remove and re-enter the service key numbers in the box.
  5. Tick Next, until Finish.
  6. Click OK.

This process will refresh your payroll service and will re-activate your subscription. However, if you're still getting the same result, please follow the recommended troubleshooting steps in this article: Troubleshoot Payroll Service Server Error or Payroll Connection Error.

Reactivate payroll subscrition

I need to contact the support desk.  I had my new QB subscription started back in May. They never got the online portion completed program.  I felt I could wait to get that done. However, now I have this Reactivate payroll subscription on my screen that will not allow me to complete my tax forms or payroll.  I think they didn't complete the set up on my subscription as my new one should be good until next May of 2022.
