Hi there, priorityvet.

Are you getting an error when changing the rate of the employee on its profile? What happened when you tried doing it?

Any additional information will help up get to the bottom of the issue.

Thanks in advance.

I'm getting the same error when trying to add additional pay types (e.g., Vacation Time) to employees.

JessT,

Thanks for the response.  I already have a case open--56043486--but I have little faith that it'll be resolved.  Is there any chance we can escalate the issue?

Thanks,

JessT,

I understand, and I plan on calling them today.  Is there a number to get a higher tier of support and/or speak with someone in payroll?  The tier-1 support is abysmal.

Thanks,

I'm getting this error as well, still today. Is the issue unresolved as of yet? Do we just update the gross wages on the paycheck manually in the mean time?

Hi there, @jennnaangelo.

At this time, our product engineers are looking for a permanent fix for this error. And we suggest not to make any modification to the paycheck while we're working for a fix.

To ensure you'll get an update on the resolution status, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. This is to ensure that your company is added to the list of affected users and provide this investigation number for easy tracking: INV-55782.

To reach our support team, please follow the detailed steps provided by my peer Rea_M above.

Hello there, jasonsemien.

I can help you edit your employee's information.

Before we start troubleshooting, I'd like to verify if you received the same exact error as the others so I can walk you through the correct steps.

We can verify if you're experiencing a browser-related issue by logging in to QuickBooks Online through a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

Then, edit the employee's payroll information from there. If this works, you can switch back to the main browser to clear the cache so the system can start fresh. If you get the same result while using a private browser, I recommend switching to a different browser.

Keep me posted on how this works so I can walk you through in solving the issue. Any additional information is much appreciated. Take care!

I am having this same error as well. I did try the incognito browser and that did not make a difference.

The investigation for this error has been resolved already for QuickBooks Online Payroll. Since you're still experiencing this unexpected behavior. Let's run basic troubleshooting steps to fix it.

Let's start by using a different supported browser. This helps us identify if it's a browser compatibility issue that causing this unusual behavior. Then, you can clear the cache to remove unwanted internet files that sometimes cause a bug in your browser.

If the issue persists, I'd suggest reaching out to our Payroll Support Team. They have the tools to do a screen-share to further investigate the root cause of it. To reach them, you can follow the steps provided by my colleague Rea_M above.

Support hours are Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM PT and Saturday from 6 AM to 3 PM PT.

This error message also appears when you try to change an employees withholding. "Enter a positive correction value."  Cleared Cache, used a private window. Waste of time.

Same issue when trying to change an employee's withholdings.  No one at Intuit can fix this apparently.  I've   called twice.  Very frustrating.
