I can help you with updating your wage limit, Mahendra Nath.

QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) will automatically enter the new wage limit once we receive updates from the Agency. This is our way to ensure we stay compliant with your state tax laws and regulations. Wage base limits are updated by the payroll tax table. Just ensure that both QuickBooks Desktop and the payroll tax table are updated.

Here's how:

  1. Select the Employees menu at the top and select Get Payroll Updates.
  2. Choose the Download Entire Update checkbox.
  3. Select Download Latest Update. An informational window appears when the download is complete.

You can go to the Payroll Item List page to change the limit on your payroll item.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the List menu and choose Payroll Item List.
  2. In the Payroll Item drop-down, select Edit Payroll Item.
  3. You can make the necessary changes you wanted for in the Edit Payroll Item window.
  4. Click the Next button and select Finish.

I'm just one post away if you need a hand with modifying your payroll reports or any QuickBooks-related. Take care always.

I don't think the problem is that the tax table hasn't been updated yet. It looks to me like the problem is that the tax table has been updated with the wrong amount. The letter I received from NM Dept. of Workforce solutions states the 2022 taxable wage base effective 01/01/22 is $28,700.00. QuickBooks is showing that the 2022 taxable wage base effective 01/01/22 is $27,800.00. It's as if the numbers have been transposed. I hope someone within QuickBooks/Intuit will take a minute to look at this. Attached is a screenshot of the message in QuickBooks listing the incorrect amount.

It says the chat channel is currently closed and I don't have time to sit on the phone today. I'll keep checking back to see if this gets fixed.

I just got this response via Facebook messenger: Thanks for reaching out here. I understand what you're saying. I checked on this issue and wanted to inform you that the taxable wage changes will be updated and reflected within QuickBooks on or around 01/13/2022. Once a tax law altered, Intuit makes these changes shortly there after. If there's anything else I can help you with, I'm here. ^Monica

The wage limit is still incorrect after running payroll updated 22202. Any idea of when this will be fixed?

I was on the phone with the ProAdvisor help line for one hour! They aren't able to get a message to the programming department that the rate has been entered wrong. The following is the statement for the 22201 changes.

"Wage limit for state unemployment insurance (UI) increased to $27,800 from $27,000. (22201)"

We need to keep calling and sending messages to QB's until it gets changed.

Hi MaryJoyD;

Do you have a way to put a ticket in for the programming DEFECT on the NM UI rate that is in tax table update 22201?

The wage base should be $28,700 and the programmer made a simple transposition error and hasn't been contacted regarding the defect.

Thanks!

I am confussed on how to get a message to the programmer.

Thanks!

Good Morning MirriamM;

We have been contacting QB's. I was on the ProAdvisor line and they didn't have a way to put a ticket in for the change.

Do you have any more ideas about how to help the programming department know that there is a DEFECT that needs to be corrected?

Thanks!

Unemployment Taxable Wage Base New Mexico - 2022

Yesterday, I got an email that there was a new payroll update 22206. I just finished running the update and (finally!) the unemployment taxable wage base has been updated to the correct amount.

Kentucky passed House Bill 144 on 3/24/22.  As of today 3/31/22 the wage limit has not been updated.

The notice sent to all employers stated "Please ensure to make these adjustments before filing your 1st quarter of 2022.

My system will not allow me to make the change due to QuickBooks being control freaks.

I called and spoke to the OUTSOURCED agent and he very kind BUT he could not even get any response from whomever he tried chatting with.

QuickBooks: Your software is not FREE and it gets more costly every year - so do your job and correct this before an abundance of Kentucky companies end up filing amended returns and creating a mess due to your incompetence.

Stop telling everyone to use your HELP.

It is a waste of time especially since this QuickBooks outsources this to another country!

Welcome to this thread, christyprid.

I appreciate you for following the steps shared on this thread and letting us know the result. To ensure I can provide the best solution, I have to ask for more details about your wage base limit concern.

May I know the specific state you’re located in? Did receive a letter from your state agency about the cap?

I’m looking forward to your reply, christyprid. Thank you in advance.
