We have recently switched from QB online to QB desktop. The direct deposit information for the employees did not transfer over. How can I view the DD info in QB online?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Good day, @bootz26.
Congratulations on your switch to QuickBooks Desktop. I’m here to share some insight into your employees Direct Deposit information.
One of the limitations of the process of exporting data from QuickBooks Online to Desktop is for the Direct Deposit details not being moved over.
If you want to continue running your payroll using Intuit’s Payroll Service, you need to set it up again then enter the year-to-date information.
Viewing your employees DD info in QBO is currently unavailable. You can only see the last 4 digits of their bank account details in the Pay section of their profile. This is to keep confidential information safe.
As a suggestion, if you still have the Direct Deposit Authorization forms submitted by your employees, review them to see their full account details.
That should do it. Post again in the Community if you have any other questions working with QuickBooks. I'm more than happy to help you out. Have a good one!

Account administrator should have full access to bank account information. If a direct deposit is not received by an employee and you can't view the account information that was entered into quickbooks you can't identify the account that the fund may have actually been sent to... How do you view full account information in quickbooks online. This must be viewable as it is in every single other major payroll processor..
Welcome to the Community, @ChrisWood134. Thanks for joining in this thread and for voicing out your concern.
I understand the importance of having full access to the bank account info of your employees. As mentioned by my peer, we intend to keep any confidential data safe. That's why you can only view the last 4 digits of their bank account.
Though, you can contact our QuickBooks Online Payroll team for further assistance. They can help you trace the direct deposit and identify which account the funds have been sent to, and advise you on what to do next to make sure you're able to recover the funds in case it was sent to a different account.
For future reference, read and learn more about how to resolve Direct Deposit Issues in case you encounter any problem submitting direct deposit checks based on the scenarios listed in the article.
Feel free to visit again should you need anything else about QuickBooks. I'd be delighted to be your guide.
I have to say this is a bit ridiculous. Whenever you write a check, the account and routing number are literally printed on the check.... This isn't exactly super confidential information and it should absolutely be viewable by the admin.
You guys do realize that when you write a check, the account and routing number are printed on the checks... It isn't exactly the most confidential "data" and should probably be viewable by the admin.
I have a sneaking suspicion, you hide this data to make it more difficult to offboard from quickbooks payroll.
reviewing employees direct deposit form doesn't verify what's in quickbooks vs what's on the form.
I have a direct deposit issue where a new employee says they didn't get the direct deposit. I want to verify I didn't make an error entering the information. The routing is correct but I have no idea if the account number is correct. I can only see the last 4.
