For 2022 the Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave rates are changing from .4% to .6%. I am able to make the adjustments for company vs employer rates (employee center --> edit employee --> payroll info --> taxes -- other) however, I am unable to change the .4% (of gross wages) that currently shows in the Payroll Item List. I have tried "edit payroll item" and the wizard does not provide a place to change this rate. I would have thought that Quickbooks would have updated this via payroll updates since this applies statewide...but I have not seen it.
Currently using Quickbooks Desktop Pro version.
Hello @jjcchheenn,
I appreciate you for providing detailed information about what you've done on your end. I'm here to share what I know about the new rate for Washington Paid Family and Medical Leave.
You're on the right path with making adjustments in the employee profile. However, there are still no updates for the amounts in the Payroll Item List for Washington. Regardless of the changes in the Other section, your rates will still show the old one.
Our team is already aware of the update from your state and is working to provide an update soon. We'll notify you via email once there's a new release that you can run.

The rate has been updated. See https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/employees-and-payroll/washington-paid-family-leave...
I am repeatedly told by QB Assisted Payroll that I don't have to pay Washington Paid Family Leave. QB is not taking it out of my staffs payroll nor paying anything to the state. I am getting nasty-grams from Washington State that the tax dept at QB is not responding to, and I have spent hours on the phone trying to talk to someone but they all tell me the tax update team is email only. My bill is mounting and nothing is being deducted or paid. How can I speak to someone who actually knows Washington State Paid Family Leave?!?!
Good to see you on this thread, @darmorehou.

Hello
In general, Washington workers are eligible for up to 12 weeks of Paid Family and Medical Leave per year. The rate for 2022 is 0.6%. Employers will pay 27.24% of the total premium and employees will pay 72.76% - a ratio similar to 2022.20-Oct-2022
I have contacted support several times. They don't know what they are talking about and can only direct me to send an email to the tax notices email. I forward the emails from the state telling me I have unpaid taxes to that email and get zero response, for 5 months of repeated attempts. I pay for assisted payroll and there is no person to talk to about this Washington State tax and why it is not set up properly and paid by the assisted payroll service. I have all the current tax table updates.
This is hilarious, almost to the point of me crying. No, assisted payroll general help does nothing to help me. I need someone the the assisted payroll tax. I am currently on the phone again with them, now probably up to 15 hours total...
