We filled the contractor W-9 and filed 1099. The Contractor received an email stating 1099 is available. But she cannot see any 1099 once she logs in. How to fix?

She can log in to quickbooks and go to the documents section to view and print the 1099

Thanks for coming back to the Community, sumit-talentnook.

I’m here to help make sure your contractor can view the filed 1099. Let me guide you through the steps on how to access the tax form.

  1. Click this link to sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Once you’re logged in, go to the Clients tab on the left panel.
  3. Then, choose your client or vendor.
  4. Go to the Tax Forms tab to view the 1099 form.

For more insights about this process, see the following article: Fill out a W-9 and view your 1099-MISC in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Additionally, this guide contains instructions on how to check the signed W-9 in your account. It includes information on how to update and resend the W-9: Invite a contractor to add their own tax info.

Feel free to visit the Community again if you still need help with QBO. I’ll jump right back in to assist further. Have a good one.

The client tab is blank.

Note that W-9 information was filled by the client (us) and 1099 filed.

This issue is only visible on contractors where W-9 was filled by us based on a PDF submission from the contractor.

Contractors who submitted their W-9 information via Quickbooks can see 1099 without any issues.

Good day, sumit-talentnook!

For us to investigate this, it's best to reach out to our Customer Support Team. They have all the tools needed to see why some of your contractors were unable to view the 1099 form.

The new "Help" menu interface:

  1. Click the (?) Help icon and choose the Talk to a human option (then type it again when prompted).
  2. When asked by the bot, enter "Form 1099."
  3. Select I still need a human, then proceed with Contact us.
  4. Tap Let’s talk then choose either Get a call or Start messaging

For the old "Help" menu:

  1. Click the Help icon, then the Contact Us button.
  2. Enter "Form 1099" in the What can we help you with box.
  3. Proceed with the Let's talk button.
  4. Select either Start messaging or Get a call button.

As a workaround, you'll want to print them and provide them to your contractors. Also, you can download their 1099 forms and attach them to the email. Please check these links for the detailed steps:
