I found an error on our W-2's back in January and contacted Intuit to get them corrected. I received an email on January 15 indicating that the correction has been completed, but the W-2c forms are still not available to print and distribute. If the correction has been made why is it taking so long to produce new forms? We have selected the self-printing option so all Intuit has to do is make them available in the tax center. Every day employees are asking me when they will get their W-2's.
I can help you get around your concern, @jurich.
I want to ensure this is taken care of, and I'd like to redirect you to the best support group available to get this addressed right away.
As much I would like to help you, only our support team can review your QuickBooks data and verify why your corrected W-2's take so long. For now, I suggest contacting them so they can make further investigations and provide additional troubleshooting steps to resolve this.

I have called support several times through Quickbooks and every time I get a different response. Yesterday the person told me there was no record under my case ID: MTC-220111-8371. Then this morning I got an email to set up an appointment for a payroll correction. I never requested a new correction, I simply want to know the status of our corrected W-2's. This is incredibly frustrating because employees are asking every day about their W-2 forms and I cannot get a clear answer from any one at Intuit.
I have also had this issue. We had about 190 W2s get automatically submitted without box 12 info. I caught it contacted them and submitted corrections on 01/12. I was told they would be ready by 1/31 at the latest, then soon, then Feb 22nd and now I am just being told they are working on them and wont let me speak to anyone in the corrections department. Employees are asking daily and I no longer feel comfortable giving them an eta because the info I am being provided is not true. One contact hinted that something happened and it is causing major backlog of W2 corrections.
We are facing the Same Issue. We Couldn't get scheduled for correction until April 12!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is absolutely ridiculous, Why we cannot even manipulate the data on our own..
We Are facing the Same issue, And was finally contacted with a Correction Date of April 12th.. I Feel we will not be using this service much Longer!!!! This is ridiculous.
We are having the same issue. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Fixing your W2s in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Payroll is my priority, @Payrollone. That's why I'm here to guide you on the actions you need to help take care of this matter.
When you need to fix something on your employees' W2s in QBDT, it'll depend on your payroll service and if the forms have already been filed.
If you're using QBDT Assisted Payroll, you need to contact our Payroll Care team to request a correction. Then, they'll let you know approximately when you and your employee should expect to receive the W-2c. Here's how:
If you're using QBDT Payroll Enhanced, Basic, or Standard plan, you can create your W2c and W3c in QuickBooks and print them. Then, you'll need to file the forms manually with the Social Security Administration. For the complete guide, please refer to this article: Fix an incorrect W-2.
Also, to answer the most commonly asked W2 questions in QBDT, I'd recommend checking out this article: Get answers to your W-2 questions.
Please let me know in the comments if you have other payroll concerns and questions about Form W2s in QBDT. I'm always around to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @Payrollone.
None of this helps! WORST EVER. DO NOT EVER USE QUICKBOOKS FOR PAYROLL. THEY ARE HORRIBLE! AVOID you will SPENT hundreds of HOURS dealing with just complete CRAP!
We are having the same issue in 2023. We first requested changes in January, it is now March, and corrections still haven't been made. I have contacted QBO multiple times, and no one can provide an update on the progress.
