Workforce error: Employer not connected

We've had QB payroll for years and have all our new staff submit their information through Workforce. Suddenly last week, our two new employees cannot fill out their information to get on payroll. They are getting an error message:

 

"We can't get your info"

"Your employer isn't connected to Quickbooks Payroll. Contact them to access your paycheck."

 

We're using the same button in Quickbooks to sent the invitation. They're using the email address they supplied me to log in. How can I fix this?

Let me guide you on how to make your employee access their paycheck.

 

Firstly, you can resend the invitation to your employees so that it can start over fresh. Please note that if your employee has access to your QuickBooks Online account, make sure they use a different email for Workforce than the one they use to sign in to QuickBooks Online.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. On the left navigational panel, look for the Payroll tab. 
  2. Click Employees 
  3. Choose Actions, then click Turn off Workforce access.
  4. Select Confirm.
  5. In the employee's profile, update their email address, then select Send invite next to Pay and tax docs. The employee will receive a new invitation.

 

Alternatively, your employees can perform troubleshooting steps before sending the invitation by logging into their QBO account using a private browser. This way, they can double-check the accurate setup in their account.

 

They can use these shortcut keys in their keyboard to access incognito mode:

 

  • Safari: Control + Option + P
  • Google Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Firefox or Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P

 

Moreover, if that works fine using a private browser, go back to your original browser and clear its cache so the system can start fresh. Also, using a different supported browser can help us pinpoint the error you've been experiencing.

 

If the same thing happens, I'd suggest contacting our QuickBooks support team. They have the necessary tools and expertise to thoroughly look into this matter.

Since you're still experiencing the same issue, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks support team so they can further sort this out and assist you promptly using their tools.

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Go to the Help icon.
  3. From there, select either of these tabs to get started:
    • Assistant: Get quick, personalized answers. Select a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with. However, if you decide you need further help, you can still Talk to a human.
    • Search: Search the QuickBooks Online knowledge base directly, or select Contact Us and choose a way to connect with us:
      • Start a chat with a support expert.
      • Get a callback from the next available expert.
      • Ask the community to get help from businesses like yours.

 

Additionally, your employee can also directly reach out to our QuickBooks Workforce through chat: public-consumer-chat (intuit.com)
