Error 15276 while trying to update payroll

I'll make sure you're able to update QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Payroll, @Costless Carpet.

I appreciate you for performing the initial troubleshooting step to help isolate the error you've encountered while updating payroll. When you're still unable to install the payroll update, you'll have to delete and then download it again. Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\QuickBooks XX\Components.

Note: XX is your QuickBooks Desktop version. For example, QuickBooks Desktop 2019 is DownloadQB19.

  3. Open QuickBooks Desktop. Go to the Help menu, then select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  4. Go to the Update Now tab, then select the Reset Update checkbox.
  5. Select Get Updates. When the download is complete, close and re-open QuickBooks Desktop.
  6. Go to the Help menu.
  7. Select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  8. Go to the Overview tab, then select Update Now.

In case the error persists, I'd recommend performing these additional troubleshooting steps:

  1. Verify and troubleshoot QuickBooks Desktop and Internet Explorer settings.
  2. Configure firewall and internet security settings for QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Install or uninstall QuickBooks Desktop in Selective Startup.
