Error code (-6144,-82)

I am trying to restore a back up copy but I keep getting an error -6144, -301.   I have used the QuickBooks Disk Doctor but that did not work.  Any suggesting to how to solve this?

use quickbooks dr to fix but says is good to go but loses november nad december info how am i to do 3 qtr filing and w-2 without last two months info. says if problem persists to contact support asap SO SUPPORT HELP ME Asap

Hi, Please follow this to fix the issue.

Step-wise instructions are mentioned below to rename the files.TLG and.ND efficiently. So, let’s have a glance at once:

1. First press F2 in QuickBooks Desktop
2. Go to File Information and search for the location of your Company file
3. Now, open the file location once you get it
4. Look for the entire files.ND and.TLG extensions that share the same name as the Company file in question
5. Rename them by adding a.OLD at the end of each file extension

If you will still face that issue please contact with intuit support team they will help you with that issue.

I am having the same problem with my QuickBooks Desktop Premier 2020. It started from morning. When I launch QuickBooks, I get an error statting "We're Sorry. QuickBooks encountered a problem when opening the company file.

Often times we can resolve this error message quickly by relaunching QuickBooks with elevated permissions. To do this, you'll need to right-click on the QuickBooks application and choose Run as Administrator. 

However, if the error persists, you can follow the given steps by our user, Sanya. Renaming the .NG and .TLG files are configuration files that allow QuickBooks Desktop to access the company file(s) in a network or in the multi-user mode. Corrupted or damaged .ND or .TLG files can cause errors when opening QuickBooks Desktop. Renaming these files does not cause data loss since these are automatically recreated when you open or scan the company files using QuickBooks Database Server Manager.

Additionally, you can run the File Doctor. This way, you can scan the company file for any potential data damage issues causing the error message. To do this:

It looks like your company file is corrupted. Chat Support and ask Data Service to fix it. Otherwise, you will have to purchase a third-party file repair service.
