QuickBooks Pro 2011

I have installed and been using a new QB Pro 2011 program.  I have just been advised that I need to register - I thought I registered it when I installed it - but I keep getting an error "Browser not supported - Download the latest version of one of these browsers to continue".  My browsers are up to date and I've cleared cookies.  I'm not able to access the program until I complete the registration.  Any suggestions???

I'm here to help share insights about how you can register using QuickBooks Desktop.

 

QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2011 is one of the versions which are no longer able to register for the first time. This means you'll be asked to enter a certain code to register the product. Use this article to learn more about this policy: QuickBooks Desktop Service Discontinuation Policy and Upgrade Information.

 

To get the code if you don't have it handy, you'll have to contact our Customer Care Support to get one for registration. However, discontinued products are no longer able to use online services like support assistance.

 

With this, let's consider upgrading to the latest and supported versions of QuickBooks Enterprise Suite. Here are links for the comparison of each version:

QuickBooks Pro 2011

Unfortunately, upgrading is not an option at this time.  I'm doing the books for our church, a member purchased this program for my use (I use QB for my "real" job so I was familiar with the program).  How can I get my files/data that I was using?  This has been so time consuming and frustrating to get it set up, manually add all my information from the beginning of this year and only use it for about 2 months......

I can imagine how difficult the situation you're currently in, @Shari1964. Know that QuickBooks Desktop 2011 doesn't support the latest web browsers. You'll need to reach out to our Customer Care Team. This way, they can provide you with a code so you can proceed to complete the registration. To begin, here's how:

 

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Let's talk, and then choose a way to connect.

Once you've got the code, proceed to activate your QBDT. Here's how:

 

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. From the Help menu, select Activate QuickBooks Desktop.

@Kurt_M I'm not even able to login to QuickBooks, I get the message to register once I open the app, from there I get the error message about the browser.

  2. Choose your product from the dropdown arrow.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Enter all the needed details and especially your concern and Continue.
  5. Then select a way to connect with us: You can select either to Chat with us or Have us call you.

Chat Support and ask for the activation code. If they refused to generate one, you don't have any option but purchasing a new license to upgrade your version. You can apply to get it from Techsoup if you are eligible

Not yet but I can’t even get to point where it asks for code, I just get message that it can’t open in browser
