It's nice to have you in the Community, anthony7.
I would be delighted to help you with this. I just need to ask a few questions to ensure that I provide the appropriate resolution.
What exactly do you want to achieve in your QuickBooks Online account? Are you referring to downgrading your current QBO version or are there products updates you want to roll back? Do you want to delete your transactions and start from scratch?
Please let me know by adding a comment below. I'm looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Have a great day!
I believe vivien misunderstood. Let me try to understand. You made bunches of entries in QBO today that you wish to start over as if today were yesterday. The only way to do that is
So, you're saying there's a chance?
I'll get started on #1. :-)
I made some changes and now my accounts are screwed up. I want restore or undo what I did.
Hello, @anthony7.
Thanks for getting back to us. Let me add to this conversation and address your concern about the option to undo or restore previous data in QuickBooks Online.
Changing or restoring data to a previous point of time isn't possible. You must manually change or delete the incorrect transactions entered into QBO.
Below are the steps on how to delete or void transactions:
1. Find and open the transaction.
2. Click More, then choose Void or Delete.
3. Select Yes to confirm voiding or deleting the transaction.
You may refer to this article for additional information: How to void or delete an invoice or other transactions.
If there’s anything else I can do for you, don’t hesitate to let me know. I’ll be always here to help. Enjoy your day!

Chronobooks does that. Not sure if it works if you have payroll

If you added items from the Banking> "For Review" you can go to Banking> "In Quickbooks", batch select all items added since yesterday, and click Undo, which will delete them from the books, and put them back in For Review
Please tell me an alternative to the Time Machine has been developed since this email chain 10 months ago....
I appreciate you joining in this thread, @FrustratedUser3.
I can help share some insights about QuickBooks rollback.
Currently, there is no way to rollback what you have created or deleted from the previous day. You may check the Audit Log to recreate any deleted or delete any created transactions.
Reversing any actions may be based by using the Audit Log. For more details, you can check out this link: Learn about the audit log.
If you have other questions about your transactions, do let me know. I want to help however I can.
It is literally insane that there is no backup feature and everyone using QBO is editing a live database (or their staff are editing a live database) with no backup mechanism. In a matter of minutes one person could void, delete, and unpost entries creating days of work to reconstruct. Why no backup feature? Isn't that accounting 101? Make a backup and keep it offsite. Our file is offsite, but the backup is nowhere to be found! This is seriously disappointing.
Hello, @BestPracticeCritic.
Welcome to the Community.
I know backing up your file is very useful to your business and others. Rest assured, I'll pass this feature to our product engineers so they can consider it for future updates.
There isn't a backup file because QBO is a web-based program they can access on any computer and different locations. However, you can use a third-party application or export your data manually.
You can go to the Intuit App Center and search for an app. Once you find the app, click on Get app now to integrate it with QuickBooks Online.
For the second question, are you referring to QuickBooks? If so, yes it's an accounting software that replaces paper or spreadsheet accounting processes. So instead of entering transactions into a ledger or a spreadsheet, they are entered into a database.

I'm only a post away should you have any follow-up questions. Take care and have a good one.
QBO has got to be able to restore my QBO file. A stupid QB rep was working with for over two hours today trying to fix an issue. I have an accountant user ID. She had me delete my user ID and resend an invitation to myself. So I did, but now ALL of my 100 or so custom reports are GONE!!! She told me to log in as master administrator, "coz the master admin can see everything". That's BS! I logged in as the master administrator and there are no customized reports there either.
Hey there, @CYCBusiness1526. Thanks for joining the thread.
QBO does not have a physical backup method available since all data is redundantly stored across multiple servers. That being said, I understand that the loss of your custom reports can be frustrating, so I'll submit your feedback to our Product Development team for consideration. To prevent this from happening in the future, I recommend that you share the custom reports with the Master Admin user so that in the event you need to reinvite yourself again, this doesn't happen. Once it's shared with another user, it will be added to their My Custom Reports section, thus making it accessible to share again later on their login. It's super easy and only takes a moment:
That's it! Please let me know if there's anything else I can do to be of assistance — cheers to a safe and productive week ahead.
the solutions provided by quickbooks staff is unbelievable. Just undo it manually?
That's great, that's just useless, garbage and oh so great.
Switching to online has to be the biggest mistake any user has made. Just fix it.
I agree. I am having the same issue today. I accidentally undid a bunch of transactions while trying to fix a couple of transfers to my credit card, now everything is completely screwed.
Ridiculous. Just ridiculous.
Thank you for the headache of not having automatic backups at least weekly.
Excellent.
Rewind solves this problem. It provides continuous automated backups for your QBO Files, and allows you to restore individual items or the entire File itself.
