New Laptop without DVD/CD Drive

QuickBooks 2008 is no longer supported. Furthermore, there's no available download link.

There might be a need to purchase a new QuickBooks Desktop.  Check it here: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/desktop/pro/.

When the Windows that came with my new laptop expires (I think it is 30 days) the Windows I have is Vista, so that would be perfect!  But I really only need the QuickBooks temporarily, so I think I will use my old laptop if it will hold together long enough.

Come to think of it, I don't know if the Vista is usable now either - it is a download so I don't have to worry about the lack of a drive, but I don't know if it is still supported.  It might not be downloadable now.  I am retired and living on Social Security, so in addition to being cheap I am a dinosaur!

QuickBooks Desktop 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 are the versions currently supported right now.

We're unable to provide product requirements for 2008 since it's no longer supported. You'll want to download the latest release to keep you up-to-date as mentioned by my colleague @MaryLurleenM.

You can also refer to the download a free 30-day trial of QuickBooks page if ever you want to drive-test the 2020 version. It provides license and product numbers to help run the program.

I just bought a new PC and it does not have a drive. I need to install QuickBooks Desktop 2017 on it. what are my options other than buying a external device.

QuickBooks 2003? Try Windows XP. I am not sure you are able to run it on Vista.

Thanks, I ran it on Windows XP.  is there a QB expert in the LA area that can help me quickbooks 2003 files (windows version) to current QB Mac version?

Do you need to migrate data from QB Desktop 2003 Windows to QB Desktop 2020-2022 Mac?

A QBDT 2003 file is too old to be moved to the latest version of QB Mac. It has to be converted to a supported version of QuickBooks Desktop first before migrating to QB Mac. However, it has to be done in interim jumps, from QB 2003 to 2006...2009...2012.. till the supported version of QBDT. Then, that's the time you can migrate it to a Mac version.

I can guide you in finding a ProAdvisor in your area, which I hope, has the older versions, so they can assist you with the series of conversions. If you can't find one, please contact our Support team.
