Download QuickBooks Desktop

You can download QuickBooks Desktop from the official Downloads & Updates page, or from specific portals if you are a ProAdvisor or Accountant.

Download installation files

The process to download your software depends on your user type.

Standard users download

1. Go to the Downloads & Updates page.
2. Select your country, product, and version. If you don't know what version you use, see Not sure what version you use?
3. Select Download.

ProAdvisors and Accountants download

• ProAdvisors: Log into your QuickBooks ProAdvisor Center to download your software
• Accountants: Log into CAMPS to download your software

Note: If you need to reinstall or move QuickBooks Desktop to another computer, use the migrator tool.

Find your license and product numbers

You need to enter your license and product number when you install QuickBooks. Use the following methods to locate them:

• ProAdvisors can view software information in the ProAdvisor section of QuickBooks Online Accountant.
• Email: Look in the purchase confirmation email you received from Intuit.
• Account: Sign in to your account and view your license in the Products & Services section.
• Original packaging: If you purchased a CD, look for the scratch-off label next to the UPC code.
• Lookup Tool: If you registered your software previously, use the License Look Up Tool.

Manage older versions

QuickBooks Desktop versions from too long ago are not available for download because Intuit cannot ensure they will run on newer systems. Intuit does not support or offer downloads for these products.

Discontinued products

• New registration: Discontinued products cannot be registered for the first time.
• Re-registration: You can re-register discontinued products if they have been registered before and are being reinstalled.
• Support: Assisted support for discontinued products is no longer available, but you can contact Intuit to get a validation code.

Upgrade or update software

• Upgrade: If you have QuickBooks Desktop and want to use a newer version, see Upgrade to a New Desktop version.
• Update: If you only need to update your current software, see Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
