Good afternoon, @NealRM.
You can disregard the ads by clicking the X or No, thanks button. I'll provide feedback to our product engineers about having the ability to turn off the ads in QuickBooks Online.
Thank you for sharing your question in the Community. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out.
Intuit finds the adds useful as they help Intuit sell you more things.

Thank you for your reply. However I really doubt that this is an issue for the "Product Engineers". This was a decision made by management/marketing. Please provide this feedback to them.
These ads are one in a growing list of items that are causing me not only to stop referring QB to other businesses, but to now strongly suggest they seek out other software options. That other accounting and invoices software companies are more responsive to their customers and the quality of the product.

I found a solution that works well for me, may be helpful for others.
In Chrome, install a Javascript Injector extension, then add javascript that hides the marketing trash from Intuit:
Here's the extension I used:
chrome-extension://djnjegpffahmfpjdlkciiecmeaebghlk/views/options.html
Trigger JS similar to the following to hide the marketing elements:
setTimeout(function(){document.getElementsByClassName("marketing-ipd-tsa-widgets").item(0).remove();},5000);
As a paid user of QBO, I would very much like to have the ability to turn off the ads. It is extremely irksome to have to click the X or No, thanks button over and over again. It is such a big distraction and again, paying customers should have the ability to opt out of these ads.
Hi, @jmgpromotions.
I know this can frustrating for you.
These ads are designed to guide and suggest how you can optimize your QuickBooks Online experience. I understand that it affects your navigation when using the product.
In the meantime, we don't have the option to completely stop the ads from popping up. You can continue using the X or No, thanks to buttons. This way, the pop-ups will keep from showing up again.
Also, you can visit our QuickBooks Online Blog to know more about the latest news and updates about QBO and what our Product Team is working on.
If there's anything else you need, just leave a comment below. I'll be here to keep helping.
That stupid f**ing bearded tatted up graphic dude pitching me garbage I don't need is infuriating and one more reason I am starting to really hate Quickbooks online.
I hate the ads. I find this abusive of the relationship. I want to get my work done, not see ads in a product is as expensive as this.
Super annoying. Here's how I solved this on Chrome:
https://plugin.intuitcdn.net/marketing-ipd-tsa-widgets/*/js/marketing-ipd-tsa-widgets.js
So far this has silently blocked the most annoying ads (such as the collapsible one on the dashboard). It doesn't get rid of some of the others inserted in the middle of the page (such as the one on the QuickBooks Cash page), but those aren't as egregious.
Cheers,
Geoff
STOP with these ads.
> we are paying for this tool
> we do NOT need this fake "assistance"
> every single landing page all day long - hundreds of times a day I am clicking this off. It is just plain abusive.
I have migrated almost one hundred companies to Intuit products over the years. Never again. For my next new company (expected January 2021), I will seek a different tool for them.
Very sad to see Intuit go in this direction.
Thank you, Intuit, for removing those ads! A huge relief - no more frustration and wasted time. It is great to be back to working efficiently and peacefully.
I agree. this is nuts. I'm so tired of dismissing product ads and upsell attempts. I PAY for QB Online. Don't make this ad supported! If you are, then give me the software free or let me disable the ads!
Intuit, please, listen to your customers here. You are COSTING us money.
How did you get Intuit to turn the ads off for you? They told me that was not an option but that we should provide "feedback." Since this original post was posted back in 2019, it's probably fair to assume they will not listen to paying customers.
Can you share with us about how you turned off QBO ads? Thanks!
False alarm, and I take back my "thank you". I noticed a few days of "peace and quiet". Then, the ads started trickling back in. Not quite as abusive/repetitive as before, but still intolerable and inexcusable.
Absolutely mind-boggling. No way any single person at Intuit could possibly think any one of these ads is in any way "helpful", much less "informative", to us - while we are trying to work, nonetheless. Really can't understand why the company treats its users/subscribers this way. Too many good products out there nowadays, to which we can more and more easily migrate.
If you are able to find an alternative that you feel will work in place of QBO, would you be willing to share it with the rest of us? I'm genuinely interested in moving on to a better program that respects paying customers.
It seems like class action law suits have been filed for much less, and would probably be the only way this issue could possibly be addressed. Clearly these "reps" for QuickBooks just give us lines of garbage that they say garbage like "will pass this consideration on to our engineers. In the meantime, click the "X" and this will stop the ads from appearing." No s**t?!? Gee, no one here has ever tried that!
I don't think it's too much of a stretch to prove that Intuit has stolen millions of hours and potentially billions of lost revenue from businesses by forcing us to deal with these ads. It would be only right to be reimbursed for our monthly fees, lost revenue, loss of productivity, loss of hours, etc.
We pay money to NOT see ads.
This probably won't be posted, but it's worth a shot I guess.
Hi Neal,
I have become fed up with QB desktop as well. Dropping support for 2018 has caused functions I've subscribed to and paid for to no longer be available without upgrading both my licenses. What options are you offering your clients?
Thank you,
Darren
It's not like we're the customers or anything, right? Let's pay silly subscription fees for a product/service that interrupts workflow with ads. Just hit 'X' or "no thanks!" Sure. Can't wait for the day I get rid of Intuit.
they are fffffing ennoying- WTF
what a lier
Seriously? The question is not how to get back to work after being interrupted by yet another pop-up ad in QBO. How do we get the ads to stop disrupting/appearing? The ads sometimes block what I am trying to do. We are paying approx. $130 per MONTH for QBO. And Intuit wants to sell me something else? Please trust the intelligence of your customers. If we want to add on to our services we will figure out what we need and do it. Thx.
I agree with all on this post. As a small business owner that manages my own books the constant pop-up ads are very irritating. Intuit please allow us some options on how to control this barrage of advertising. I need a simple accounting system. I am sure all the bells and whistles work great if you need them, for me i just need to keep my books straight and don't need to spend double the amount of time clicking "X" or "No". Again can you please provide a fix to turn off these very annoying ads.
