If I have Quickbooks installed on another computer, is it preventing me from installing it on a new computer by saying I have wrong product number. I've checked the Lic and Product number and they're correct
Let’s get this resolved, @mickey.
Allow me to share some information and steps so you can successfully install QuickBooks Desktop.
The previous installation isn’t preventing you from installing the program on a new computer. Sometimes the background processes or unexpected happenings during the process might be the reasons that it tells you to have an incorrect product number.
We can download the QuickBooks Tools Hub and run QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool to fix and close any open background processes that QuickBooks uses. Here’s how:

Hey there, @mickey.
Thanks for reaching back out to the QuickBooks Community.
Yes, you can install the program on more than one computer using the same License and Product number. Your plan is designed to allow only one person to be signed into the company file at one time.
To help resolve the message you're receiving (wrong product number), I recommend running the Clean Install tool within the tool hub. This tool fixes any company file issues that may be occurring with your account. Here's how:
Step 1: Remove QuickBooks
Step 2: Reinstall QuickBooks Desktop
When you're ready, reinstall QuickBooks Desktop.
You can check out this article to help fix errors when activating QuickBooks, or adding license and product numbers.
These steps of running a clean install should do the trick. I'm always here to help if the issue persists. Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with. Have a great day!
There is no Clean Install tool within the Tool Hub, only instructions on how to uninstall. I've done all this

Hello! How did you resolve the issue? I'm having exactly the same problem. Thank you!
Thanks for joining this thread, Dante.
Let me provide insights on how to make sure you can enter the correct product number in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) company.
I suggest reviewing if your license number and product code match to make sure you'll prevent getting incorrect license/product number errors.
If you purchased QuickBooks Desktop from our website, look for your license number and product code in the email that confirmed your transaction. If you can't locate them, you can access them by logging into your Customer Account Management Portal.
If you bought QuickBooks from a retail store, you may look for the sticker on the original CD envelope.
Please check out this article for more details on fixing wrong product numbers for QBDT: Fix errors when activating QuickBooks or adding license and product numbers.
However, if you're sure with the product number yet the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Technical Support Team. One of our experts has the necessary tools to check your account securely and perform a screen-sharing session to investigate this behavior further.
