Which Sage 50 and QB Desktop Accountant year version are you using?

The conversion requirements from Sage to QuickBooks should be Pro, Premier, or Enterprise 2018 or higher. There's a known issue when converting from Sage50 to QuickBooks Pro/Premier 2021. If you see a "Something went wrong" message, I'd suggest contacting our Technical Support Team to download a QuickBooks 2020 trial.

For the Conversion tool to work, we'll need to run it in a Compatibility mode. Here's how: 

1. Right-click on the QuickBooks Conversion Tool icon, then select Properties.
2. Under Compatibility mode, select the checkbox for Run this program in compatibility for: then choose from the dropdown your Windows operating system and then select OK.
3. Right-click QuickBooksConverstionToolSetup.exe and select Run as Administrator.

I'm here to share further details about running the compatibility mode while using the QuickBooks Conversion Tool, @Ande1801. This way, you're able to move your data over from Sage 50 to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

When you download the QuickBooks Conversion Tool on Step 4, you'll have to choose Windows 8 even if you're using Windows 10. Then, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Once done, run the tool by right-clicking the QuickBooksConverstionToolSetup.exe and selecting the Run as Administrator option. Then, you're now set to convert your data and then review the conversion right after. You should be able to migrate your data from Sage 50 to the QB Desktop US version. If you encounter an error, try to migrate the sample file or create dummy data on your Sage to isolate the problem.
