We were using desktop QB but then went to a hosted online version. I tried to delete QB desktop from my pc, it would not delete and then created a new user on my computer QBDataServiceUser23 and made that the adminstrator on my own PC. How can I change this? Is there a standard password for this situation?

Hi @LovelyCandy,
Thank you for the update. Allow me to point you in the right direction for support in your situation.
Since you already spoke to our Technical Support team about this issue, and they referred you to an external IT support, then that's what I can suggest as well. This means the issue you have is caused by a factor that's already outside the QuickBooks product.
You can take a look at this article as well: Create data level permissions. It has the steps on how you can assign custom roles for your users.

Hello there, @LovelyCandy.
Allow me to provide some insights about the user name that's showing up on your PC.
The QBDataServiceUser user account is generated in the system because it gives every command in less time. This is just a recommendation, so you can easily find the QuickBooks database “service” running.
There is no standard password in this situation. You have to access your PC using your admin credentials. After that, you may uninstall the QuickBooks installed on your PC.
Here's how you can uninstall it:
I've also added here a link that you can check out for complete details about uninstalling and reinstalling the QuickBooks Desktop: Learn how to do a clean install of QuickBooks Desktop for Windows to fix company file issues.

Hello, thank you for your quick reply. The problem is that I was the administrator. For some reason it added this as a user and assigned administrator to QBDataServiceUser23 and took away from me. I have no idea what the admin password it assigned to this user. I have tried all passwords it could be. So now I do not have admin rights on my own computer so I cannot remove it but I cannot also make any changes on my own PC.
Hey there, @LovelyCandy.
Thanks for reaching back out to the Community and giving me some clarification on the issue. I hope your week is going well so far.

Hello:
Just an update. Took QB support 4 hours but they were not able to help. They just told me to get outside help since we do not have internal IT department. I already tried one, and they are the ones who sent me to QB as they said this program created the user. Not sure what to do now.

i too have this issue, did you ever get it solved
I have the same issue. This QBDataServiceUser32 password keeps on popping up.
and can't open my Q.B. I called QB tech support and was not able to resolve the issue.
She recommended me to reset my Windows....How did you resolve your issue? Need help here too.
Thanks
Did you solve your issue? How?
I keep deleting the user from my computer. Tech support said it shouldn’t add a user. I believe it is a hacker just my opinion. Delete it and then it pops up later on. It has changed its name before and now on the notes say need to run quickbooks. Once it was updating itself. I do Windows r and type netplwiz then remove it. Trying to disable it.
