Desperate for help.  Getting the royal run around from QuickBooks on a fraudulent charge to my credit card for a QuickBooks subscription.

Being told by customer support that they can't do anything, that the account owner has to change the credit card information.  Imagine the irony/hypocrisy - the person who is fraudulently using my card has to make the change!

Any suggestions or how to reach a higher level person appreciated.

Hopefully someone responsible and capable at QuickBooks will see this and post information on what I can do to immediately resolve this.

Hi there, JimM115.

This isn't the kind of experience I want you to have with QuickBooks.

The intuit get the payment for QuickBooks subscription based on the information entered in the Billing section. If you don't want to charge your credit card, I'd suggest updating the payment information. Please note that you'll need to have Master or Company Admin access to QuickBooks account to allow the changes.

Here's how to update:

  1. Sign in as the Master or Company Admin.
  2. Go to Gear ⚙ and select Account and Settings.
  3. From the left menu, select Billing Subscription.
  4. Select Edit ✎ beside your payment method.
  5. Update credit card info.
  6. Make sure the address in QuickBooks is the same as the one on your credit card statement.
  7. Once done, choose Confirm card or Save.

For additional information, you can click this article: Update the payment method or info for your QuickBooks Online subscription. This also contains details on how to update your payment info if you subscribed to QuickBooks Online through Google Play (Android) or App Store (iPhone or iPad).

I can see that you've already contacted our QuickBooks Support team. However, to reach a higher level person from our Support, I'd recommend contacting them again. They can further check and explain the possible extra charges from QuickBooks.

Please refer to this article to view information on how you can check an Intuit or QuickBooks charge on your credit card or bank statement and where it’s coming from and why: Understand Intuit charges on your credit card or bank statement.

Please let me know if you have additional QuickBooks concerns. I'm always here to help. Have a safe and productive week ahead!
