Check account mapping in advanced settings and try again. when I try to add transactions from Square in the App Transactions.  So far, the help desk has not helped.

Error message when posting square app transactions

I spent two hours with an assistant yesterday.  He had access to my screen.  After some attempts to find the cause, he said QuickBook engineers were investigating the problem, that I was not the only one having the problem, and that I would get email updates.  So, no, the problem is not solved. I would like to take to one of the investigating engineers.

What would happen if I disconnect Square?  Can I reimport the transactions?

Error message when posting square app transactions

Hi there, @SUVCW.

Let me add info about disconnecting Square in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Disconnecting Square will remove all the to-be-reviewed transactions. The ones that aren't added in the categorized tab.

On top of that, there are reported cases of error on posting square app transactions. It's best that the connection should still be intact since the technical team will need this to troubleshoot the escalation properly.

You might want to categorize download transactions automatically via bank rules. Feel free to read this article: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.

If you have additional questions about managing your transactions from Square to QBO, free to come back here. I'll be willing to assist you. Keep safe always.

As nothing else worked -- I disconnected square and then reconnected.  I was able to record about 30 sales transactions before I started getting the same error.  This is very frustrating, I have not been able to post since migrating to on line on February 5th.  The error message is cryptic and unhelpful.  I have checked all the inventory items and customers -- none are inactive.

Same issue. I spent 2 days with the online tech support and the end result " I am going to close this ticket and turn it over to the development team. You will get a call or email as to the status. That was one month ago with no result.

Do we need to get a lawyer and sue for breach of contract? I am ready to leave QBO and try another program even if it means having to get a new accountant and bookkeeper. All they want is my money and to give no solutions. My bookeeper was on with tech support as well and their advice was to disconnect and reconnect. Did that and now Square will not reconnect.

I am having the same issue. I have checked all the vendors, customers, items, etc, nothing is inactive. I even created new items/accounts to see if that would work and I am still getting the same error. Please update what is happening with this and the development team as it has NOT been fixed.

Here's how:

  1. On the left navigational panel, look for the Bookkeeping tab.
  2. Select Transactions, then choose App transactions.
  3. Click App settings, then Square.
