I get emails saying I have a 1099 to view or print. However, when I log in to Intuit, it tries to sell me QB online and does not give me any access to my form. Why?

I'm here to make sure you can view your 1099, @jbvansickle

If the problem continues, I'd recommend reaching out to our QBSE Support. They can perform advanced troubleshooting steps and help you view your 1099s.

Here are the steps:

  1. Click the Assistant menu.
  2. In the chat box, enter "Talk to a human."
  3. When asked, type something like "I can't view my 1099 form."
  4. Click the I still need a human option.
  5. Select either Message an agent or Get a call back

I am currently experiencing the same problem, except when I click 'assistant' the message i get is 'We're currently working on this experience and will get it fixed as soon as we can.' Very frustrating not being able to see or download my tax documents this time of year.

Having trouble accessing your 1099 form will cause a delay in your working progress, @mjpalmer. No worries, I'm here to provide steps to help you with it.

To start, we have to ensure that the link you received hasn't expired yet. This will be invalid after 30 days from the time it is sent from QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Once verified, you can use an incognito mode to determine if this is a browser-related issue. This does not store data cache that might cause odd behaviors when web-based sites. Below are the shortcut keys you can use:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

If this works, you clear your browser's cache to refresh the background processes. If not, I suggest using another supported browser. Might be that the one you're using right now has a temporary issue running outside links.

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our phone support team to further investigate the issue and help you view your 1099 forms.

For future reference, you might find this resource helpful to guide you in filing your self-employed taxes: QuickBooks Self-Employed Annual Tax Guide.

I'm always here ready to assist if you have other 1099 concerns. Feel free to add a reply below. Have a good one and stay safe.
