Hello, taxquestions102938.

Let me share some info about the tax bundle.

In a bundled subscription, the federal filing fees plus one state return will be waive if you use the same username and password when your log in to both your QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed accounts.

For more information about the QuickBooks Self-Employed + TurboTax Bundle, you can check out this article: Upgrade to the QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed bundle.

Thank you for the response, @RenjolynC ! Unfortunately, your recommendation doesn't solve the issues for me. I am logging in to both products with the same username and password, but it appears that TT is not properly applying the free access to TT Self Employed. I'm attaching a few screenshots of the experience in case that's helpful.

When I first go to select a TT product, I see the screen that shows TT Self Employed and the two Live options, with the prices I'm showing.Screen Shot 2021-12-20 at 9.43.43 PM.pngScreen Shot 2021-12-20 at 9.43.52 PM.png

I would expect that to show $0 for the standard TT Self Employed. I select that one (the $89 one) and then continue on. Now, after a couple more steps, it appears that TT is recognizing that I do in fact have the TT & QB bundle, as you can see in the next screenshots.

Screen Shot 2021-12-20 at 9.45.30 PM.pngScreen Shot 2021-12-20 at 9.47.03 PM.png

On that page, if I click "Go to QBSE", i just get an empty white screen, so it appears to not be connecting to QBSE properly. If I click Not Now, I get to the following:

Screen Shot 2021-12-20 at 9.48.50 PM.png

There, if I click the "no" option to add now, I get to a blank white screen again as if it can't connect. If I click Yes, I get taken back into the normal tax flow.

Finally, if I go to the print area where I can select to Pay Now, that's again whre I'm asked to pay the $89 rather than the expected $0.

Hope that helps us get to the bottom of this! Thanks again for your help.

@Candice C The Tax Checklist button does not appear in my QBSE. In looking at some other threads in the community, would that be because the Tax Checklist is not available for 2021 yet?

So I cannot take the steps indicated above.

I got your back, @taxquestions102938.

We can perform some troubleshooting steps to help you find the Tax Checklist button. Let's start with accessing your QuickBooks Self Employed (QBSE) account using an incognito browser. A private browser doesn't store cache or cookies that might cause problems when accessing websites. Below are the shortcut keys you can use:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once signed in, check if you can now see the Tax Checklist button. If you're unable to see the option, I'd recommend clearing the browser's cache to eliminate any data-related issues. If the issue persists, I suggest reaching out to our Phone support team to perform a screen sharing session and help you fix it.

I've also added this helpful article to guide you in categorizing your transactions and ensuring they are assigned to the correct line of your Schedule CCategorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You're always welcome to post a comment below if you have other questions. Take care always.

Unfortunately, that does not solve the issue. The "Tax Checklist" button still does not appear. I've tried in multiple different browsers, clearing cache, and using private/incognito modes. Is the Tax Checklist functionality something that isn't available until a certain date?

Let me provide details to answer your question about the checklist, taxquestions102938.

The Tax Checklist will be available in QBSE by mid January. This is the reason why you can't see it yet in the program.

You would see it in your Home page as soon as it becomes available. We'll also be sending email notifications when it's ready.

In the meantime, you can check out this article to prepare your data while waiting for the feature to be available in QBSE: QuickBooks Self-Employed Annual Tax Guide.

Aside from that, let me also share additional articles as extra references when preparing your tax returns:

I pay for the QB Self Employed TT Self Employed bundle. I went to start my 2021 return, and it shows that TT Self Employed is $98 rather than $0. How do I fix this?

@JenoP thank you for clarifying that. The previous responses had all indicated I should find the Tax Checklist, so it's helpful to know that's not possible yet.

Connecting this back to my original question, do you know why when I go into TTO SE  in order to start my 2021 taxes, it does not show as $0 (given that I'm subscribed to the QB SE + TTO SE bundle)? Is this related to the Tax Checklist not being available yet in QB SE? Given that the 2021 TTO products are available, and I'm a current subscriber to the bundle, I would think that I should be able to start my 2021 return at the $0 price point. If I start it currently, I would have to go back and clear everything in order to access the correct price.

I appreciate your guidance on this.

Allow me to step in and share additional insights about the amount on your TurboTax account, taxquestions102938.

If there are no estimated taxes entered on the TurboTax account, it should show a zero amount. I recommend seeking help from their forum so they can check the data on your account.

That way, they'll be able to verify by pulling up your company file. Here's how to post on TurboTax page.

  1. Go to this link: Intuit Turbo Help forum.
  2. Click Ask a Question.
  3. Follow onscreen instructions.

You can also contact our QuickBooks Self-Employed Live Team since they can also pull up your account.

I'm adding these links to help manage your returns during tax season.

Don't hesitate to post again if you have other QuickBooks concerns. I'm always around to provide the information that you need. Stay safe always!

@MaryLandT, I may not be entirely understanding your answer, but what I'm trying to figure out is why the pricing I'm being shown for TTO appears to be incorrect. I don't think that has to do with estimated taxes, but I might be misunderstanding.

I've tried contacting QB SE help before, but no one was able to answer my question, so I turned here to the community to see if I could get to the bottom of it.

I appreciate you for getting back, @taxquestions102938.

I can see that you're asking about your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) and TurboTax Self-Employed bundle plan. Since this involves your subscription fees and accounts, I would recommend checking this with our Support Team for further assistance. A live representative can look into your account securely and explain the $98 charge you've received rather than $0.

Support is open M-F 6 AM to 6 PM and Saturday 6 AM to 3 PM PT. You can connect with them during these hours to get the help you need in no time.

On the other hand, I'm adding these resources as your guide while handling your taxes in QBSE:
