@MirriamM I am having the same issue but found some additional information that might shed some light on the issue. I agree that you should be able to print to pdf straight from your app/site but the work around (exporting to excel) is something that I have gotten use to. I even developed a macro. The problem that I am seeing is when you export to excel it is exporting in a .xlsb file (Excel Binary Workbook File) instead of .xlsx file (XML file). This is creating file where each cell in the binary excel file prints on a separate page. I had no problem using the work around mentioned above but simply "Saving As" a .xlsx file does not create a workable file.
I am having the same issue, there's got to be a better way

Hello, @Miker2.
As I've checked from our records, the investigation (INV-41374) was still open and our engineers are still currently working to get a resolution as quickly as possible. At this time, we can try following the workarounds from this thread so you can print the report seamlessly.

My Employee Earnings summary report is showing astericks where the salary numbers should be. Is this a privacy setting I need to unlock? Thanks
It's possible that the login you're using does not have access to employee's information, ronpainter56.
This can be the reason why the salary amount is encrypted. You'll want to use an Admin login or ask the admin to change your permission to see the full amounts when running payroll reports.
Here's an article about changing user permissions for more details: QuickBooks Desktop Users and Restrictions.
If you can still the the asterisks symbol even if you're already log in as the Admin, a possible data damage might have caused the issue. Let me share a different option that can resolve common data problems in QuickBooks.
Once done, open the report again to check if you can already see the amount instead of asterisk.
Let me also share this article with you in case you need to customize the report: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop.
