Printing invoices

Recently updated to Quickbooks for Mac 2020. For most of my clients, I print to a PDF and email them an invoice but since I updated I can't seem to do this without logging into some online connection which fail with my normal login. What gives? I need to get some invoices out to clients.

Printing invoices

I'll help make sure you're able to print and email the invoices to your clients seamlessly, @dezignlady.

Since you already have the updated QuickBooks Desktop for Mac, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to help fix the issue you're getting.

Let's re-setup your email in QuickBooks to refresh its settings. Let me guide you how:

  1. Go to QuickBooks, and then select Preferences.
  2. Click the Email icon.
  3. From Send Emails Using, choose Custom.
  4. Enter the needed info using the + button.

To learn more about it, please see this article: Connect and track email in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Once done, toggle it back to the default email you're using. Then, print your invoices again and resend them.

In case you encounter some unexpected QuickBooks errors in the future, you can use this handy article to resolve them: Troubleshoot Crash Center.

If you wish to personalize your invoices, you can customize them in QuickBooks. For additional QuickBooks tasks, please review this awesome QuickBooks for Mac user guide.

Lastly, I'd appreciate it if you can resend a screenshot about your issue so I can examine it further and provide accurate info.

You're always welcome to comment back below if you have some follow-up questions about this. Your success with QuickBooks is our priority.

Printing invoices

When you choose to print an invoice QuickBooks Mac saves what you've already entered (its like hitting the Save button).

That's the One Intuit ID Log In window.  Are you allowing the user to pay online?  If you are you have signed in through QuickBooks->Preferences->Payments.  Also the credit card icon or the cash icon in the bottom left of the invoice window will be highlighted.

If so you have to likely have to log into your merchant services account.  Once you do that it should remember the log in. If you don't want online payments uncheck the credit card and cash buttons (they'll no longer have your highlight color).
