Will QuickBooks Mac 2019 be compatible with the new Monterey MacOS operating system?
Hi there, jbean744.
Thank you for visiting again the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing some details on the system requirements and how QuickBooks Desktop 2019 works.
There are system elements that need to follow before you install QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. That said, QBDT 2019 is compatible with At least Mac OS X v10.12 (Sierra); Supported by Mac OS X v10.14 (Mojave), 10.13 (High Sierra). Then, a new Monterey MacOS isn't fit for now.
Once the requirements are good and enough, you can now start installing the QBDT 2019 version. Please open this article to see a step-by-step guide and some things you need to know before you begin: Install and set up QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
Please let me know if you have further questions about running QBDT 2019. I'm always happy to step in and lend a hand. Have a great day.
Your note did not answer my question (or at least not directly). Is or will QuickBooks Mac 2019 be compatibile with the new Monterey MacOS operating system? Thanks.
Your response did not answer my question (or at least directly). Is or will QuickBooks Mac 2019 be compatible with the new Monterey MacOS operating system? Thank you in advance.
Hello there, @jbean744.
I can share information about the system requirements when installing QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
As of now the operating system that's compatible with QBDT MAC installation is at least Mac OS X v10.12 (Sierra); Supported by Mac OS X v10.14 (Mojave), 10.13 (High Sierra).
We'll give information and updates once it's supported. I recommend you visit QuickBooks Blogspot to check.

stated, in response to whether Mac Desktop 2019 is compatible with macOS 12 Monterey, "As of now the operating system that's compatible with QBDT MAC installation is at least Mac OS X v10.12 (Sierra); Supported by Mac OS X v10.14 (Mojave), 10.13 (High Sierra)."
I don't believe this statement is correct. Intuit officially stated that 2019 R9 and later will run under Big Sur (and, by implication, Catalina). See: Intuit’s support policy for QuickBooks for Mac running on macOS 11 Big Sur (Updated July 16, 2021) at https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/product-system-requirements/intuit-s-support-policy-for-quickbooks-for-mac-running-on-macos/00/186292
Which doesn't answer whether 2019 will run under Monterey; only that the information provided by Mich_S is incorrect. My guess is that 2019 will not run under Monterey, at least not officially, and not if it will require updates. Until now, it has been Intuit's policy to supply bug fixes, security patches, and compatibility updates for three years (including the year of release). So I am guessing that 2019 (which actually shipped in fall 2018) has reached end-of-life. Hopefully, someone from Intuit will provide a clear, definitive answer.
What I don't know is whether Intuit will continue to support and provide updates for Mac Desktop 2020 and 2021, now that they've shipped the subscription-based Mac Plus 2022, the new name for Mac Desktop.
As katherinejoyceO of the QuickBooks Team wrote on 25 October, "the Mac OS version Monterey is only compatible with QBDT for Mac 2021." Does that mean Intuit is abandoning Mac Desktop 2020 a year early?
Thank you for your input, @billj099.
You're right. QuickBooks Mac 2019 is compatible with macOS 11 Big Sur . QuickBooks Mac Plus 2022 is supported on the latest macOS 12 version. Our product engineers are working as fast as they can to support this new macOS version for other versions of QuickBooks.

As long as you meet the minimum operating system requirements for QuickBooks Mac, you'll be able to run and apply updates, including the R13 release.
But before that, I'd suggest backing up your company file for future use.
Each version of the Mac platform has different operating system requirements:
