I was a long time BOA payroll customer and migrated to QB Payroll Core. No issue there but I also just purchased QBO but I was unable to access it. The subscription showed active but it would not show in my QB Payroll portal. I was told by QB support the the Payroll Core is a standalone offering so I could not add QBO to my portal or existing QB account. I was then told to cancel my new QBO subscription and also my existing and recently migrated QB Payroll accounts and repurchase both as a bundle. The issue is that I will not be able to export the payroll data for 2021 once I cancel the BOA related subscription and will have to figure out how to manually re-enter all the data. This makes no sense to me as the products are fully compatible.
I did cancel the QBO but have not cancelled the Payroll subscription yet. Taxes need to be filed next week. Surely there must be a way to purchase QBO separately from Payroll and have them integrate at such time. Support has been terrible so far with no call backs, days between emails and chats where the support person just disconnects mid-discussion. I did speak with a couple of great support contacts but they had limited knowledge of the BOA issues, tried to help but were not equipped. Can anyone help me get on the right path? Goal is to have Payroll and QBO in a single portal with a single login and fully integrated. Thanks.
I know you've been through a lot in migrating your payroll data, @ccisunza. It's my priority to help you today and integrate your payroll and QuickBooks subscriptions.
To achieve the goal of integrating your payroll and QuickBooks in a single login, you need to purchase a bundle subscription to these services.
Once QuickBooks and Payroll are set up, you're now ready to migrate your payroll data from BOA payroll to your new account. You can check out these articles as your guide:
Alternatively, you can add the payroll data into QuickBooks manually or use a third-party tool that can help you ease the process. You can look for one through the Intuit Apps store.
When everything is in place in your QuickBooks and Payroll bundle account, you're now ready to cancel your existing BOA payroll and standalone Payroll Core. Use this link as your reference: Cancel Your QuickBooks Payroll Subscription.
Lastly, you can review the topics from this link for more hints while working with your payroll transactions in QuickBooks: Help on common payroll topics.

Hi. BOA has already migrated me to Payroll Core and I am already paying for it. It is active and up and running.
So let me see if I understand what you are recommending:
1. Purchase brand new bundle
2. Somehow get the current data sitting in the current Payroll Core over to a new setup of Core (there was no instruction to do so, just to go from Intuit to Core, not from Core to new Core to QBO)
3. Set up QBO
4. Migrate the newly set up Core (which has yet to be addressed) and then integrate with QBO
I have one email address to use for all Intuit. When I go to purchase the new bundle with that email address, won't it connect it to the same login that I have now? Do I create a new account?
Do I change the current QB Payroll Core to a different email address so that my newly purchased software doesn't sit in limbo as it is now (recall that I cannot log into it?)
This is extremely complicated and I would rather that someone from Intuit do this live with me.
Let me guide you on what to do so you'll be able to fix issues with the migration, ccisunza.
When you transfer your payroll data, you don't have to necessarily purchase a new bundle. The conversion is done automatically. You'll want to double-check which QuickBooks Online (QBO) account has empty data so you can cancel it to prevent additional charges.
Also, for your no. 2, 3, and 4 questions, you'll have to make sure to follow the migration process given by my colleague @Angelyn_T so everything will just have to flow smoothly.
With regards to your login issues, I suggest reaching out to our payroll support team to check which of email address or login information you'll have to use so you can access your account. They have the tools to pull up your account securely. To do this, follow the steps below:
I've added these articles for more information and detailed steps:
In addition, once you're able to access your payroll, check out some of your payroll information through this article for your guide: Run Payroll Reports.

Thank you for trying to help but I do not think you are understanding the issue.
I have spoken with Payroll support. They told me that the email linked to my subscriptions are correct but that the issue is that I am a legacy BOA customer so I can't use QBO with the new Core that was just migrated from BOA.
I have spoken with a variety of support people on the phone, via chat, and now via this message board.
I was told that the BOA data that transferred over to the Core (I elected to do this via the BOA portal in advance of the forced migration) is somehow a standalone subscription and cannot be migrated to QBO. I had purchased QBO this week but was unable to access it so to be sure, it has no data. It was shown as an active subscription but could not be added to my existing Payroll Login. I was told to cancel it which I did. I may/may not be reimbursed for it - they weren't sure.
I was told to purchase a new bundle but have not done so yet. But I was told that once I have done so, I am to download reports from my existing Payroll Core that was recently migrated from BOA Intuit payroll and manually re-enter 2021 payroll data into the new Payroll Core that I get with the bundle and then it could be integrated/exported to QBO which I need to order only via the bundle. Then I was told to contact BOA to cancel the existing Payroll Core that was recently migrated from BOA.
So what you are saying does not resolve the following:
1. I pay for Payroll core already
2. I will lose my existing Payroll core data and will have to manually re-enter it
3. I am afraid to order a new Payroll/QBO bundle with the same email address as the current ones since both existing licenses are active until the QBO expires and the Payroll has not been canceled yet. I have never been able to access the QBO which I just purchased this week and was told to cancel and replace with the bundle.
4. I will be paying for 2 x Cores and 2 x QBO's this month.
5. I have spent days trying to resolve and keep getting the same articles to reference.
6. I have no faith in Intuit's ability to resolve my issue and I don't want to create a brand new email address to accommodate QB in general although I am happy to create a new login account. And finally, I resent that I will lose a decade of payroll history.
Is there someone that can connect with me directly to help resolve this issue? I would be happy to pay for QBO setup. Thanks.
I never got a resolution. I cannot access QBO. I have run out of emails to use to try to purchase new QBO/Payroll Core bundle as every email that I use says it is already taken. I cannot recover an account. I do not get responses from support.
I am desperate to get a working core payroll account tied to QBO.
Please advise or I quit.
This isn't the kind of experience we want you to have while integrating your core payroll and QuickBooks Online (QBO) accounts, @ccisunza. With this, I'm here to guide you on the actions you need to take care of this matter.
You're correct. Your email information is essential in purchasing a new QBO/Payroll Core bundle.
