Can i print a description on a check

Good day, @userkmbookkeeper

Thank you for posting here in the Community forum. Yes, you can print a description on a check. I'll be happy to walk you through printing checks that show the Description column.

Here's how:

  1. Go to +New.
  2. Select Checks and enter the necessary information.
  3. Add details under the Description column.
  4. Click Save and Close.

To ensure the check shows the description, you can preview it before printing.

You can also check this video as a reference to record and print checks in QuickBooks Online.

Please know that I'm just a reply away if you need further assistance with printing checks. I'll be around to help you out. Have a good one.

Can i print a description on a check

Hi there, jhcct.

I'll provide some additional steps on how to get around this matter so you can seamlessly print your checks.

I replicated your concern and I was able to print a check  with the entire description.

You can  perform browser troubleshooting steps as this concern could be a browser-related issue. First, let's try accessing your QBO account via an incognito/private window. The browser's cache may be full, and using a private browser can help us determine if this is the cause of the issue.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts to open a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift +N

If you're able to print using a private browser, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Clearing the cache or cookies is the best way to get a clean slate for your browser. Otherwise, using other supported browsers can be a good alternative too.

You'll want to check out this article to learn more about how to set up printing settings: Configure your print settings for printing checks in QuickBooks Online.

I'm adding these articles for other troubleshooting steps:

If you want to have a pre-printed customized check, you can visit our Intuit QuickBooks Checks and Supplies Team for the best compatibility. QuickBooks Online also has the option for you to align your checks when printing.

You can always add a comment below if you have any other questions about printing checks in QBO. I'm always here to help. Have a wonderful day!
