Printing worked in our testing. Can other applications print on the same machine? If not you may need a printer driver update from the printer manufacturer. If they can see if you can print the report to a PDF file within QuickBooks. If that works, again, its likely a printer driver or printer configuration issue.
Thanks. I'll have her give that a try.
I just thought of something...she said she could print emails and other documents. Just nothing from QuickBooks. Would that still involve an updated printer driver?
See if she can print from QuickBooks to PDF. That eliminates the printer and printer driver. If that works its still something related to the printer. In that case, try holding down the option key when choosing the Print menu in QuickBooks. I believe that clears out some configuration information that might be corrupt. Although maybe its holding the option key when you click the OK in the printer settings window? Try both....
The other thing is to look at the printer settings dialog and go over all the options and make sure something isn't screwed up (like scale set to .1% or something like that). Again these are printer settings - if it prints out to a PDF ok then its not QuickBooks itself. If it doesn't then we may have an issue - sometimes fonts are corrupt so that's a thing, too, but these are getting increasingly rare.
If it does print to a PDF you can try printing the PDF from Preview and see if that works. Again this can help figure out what's wrong.
Thanks for the replies. We were able to get it working.
That's great. Can you share what it was? May help someone else.
Well, I'm not quite sure. My boss has a MacBook Pro running Ventura and she likes to use shortcut keys...command P, etc. When she was trying to print, QuickBooks didn't seem to respond to that command. The print screen would appear, but the issue was the screen sizing was different now and the print button was not visible. And now there is a "print options" section which you have to click and then the print button appears. So another step was added that she was not familiar with. Sort of the story of QuickBooks updates (sorry for the snark, but I'm still waiting for the sort arrow to return on the Accounts Receivable Summary. Now instead of instantly sorting a list I have to export it and reformat it in Numbers). Anyway, appreciate the quick responses.
Sure - the print dialogs are macOS. QuickBooks does populate the controls of the print options portion of that dialog but everything else about it is coming from macOS. So maybe a Ventura change.
Not sure which summary but in the A/R Aging Summary the sort control appears when you hover over a column header (it works like this with every report that is sortable). You'll see a little arrow appear to the right of the column header text (the header text actually moves a little to the left). Click on that and you get a pop up menu with Sort Ascending, Sort Descending, Fit Column Width to Content, and Fit All Column Widths to Content.
Thanks, but when QB Mac Plus 2022 for desktop came out the sort the NAME column was no longer available. I've already talked about it in this forum...response was that it was changed and I should send in the request to QB Feedback, which I did. Their solution was to export the report to Excel, or in my case Numbers.
I think its there.
Well, there is no box with an arrow on my A/R Summary report next to the name of the client. There is an arrow box next to Current, 1-30, 31-60,61-90, >90 and Total and I can sort them up or down. But nothing next to the name as there used to be. It used to be you would hover over the name column and the arrow would appear. I'm not sure what version of QB you are demonstrating. But thanks. We have QB MacPlus 2022 for desktop V21.0.0
I was able to print for a few days and now it crashes every time I try to print an invoice, email an invoice, save as a pdf or open as a pdf.
Thank you for raising your issue here in the Community, @skipwith.
I want to make sure you can print or email an invoice and save it or open it as a pdf in your QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

It should be in the column header above the client names - see the screen shot. It is there in 2022 on mine. You have to hover over the blank column header.
I am on a Mac. that screen shot looks like a pc version.

Yep.
I installed this and found six months data missing. Have gone back to using QB 2022. That works that the drop down menu function makes entry tedious.
I still cannot print from QB Mac Desktop 2021 and Ventura. I am on the phone with Intuit customer service. Now they are telling me that QB 2021 is not compatible with Ventura
Thank you for letting us know about your experience when trying to print from QB Mac Desktop 2021 in Ventura OS, @skipwith.
There's an ongoing issue when printing in QB Mac on Mac OS v13 Ventura. Customers are getting a crash catcher when trying to print an invoice or other template or save it as a PDF if it includes a logo in Ventura OS. Our Product Engineering team is already aware of this and is now working on a fix.
I advise requesting that you be included to Investigation No. 79706 by our Customer Support. Once you're added to the list of affected users, you'll receive an email notification once we resolve the issue. In the meantime, you might want to consider changing the invoice's template or removing the logo.
Here are some ways you can use to fix any additional errors you might run into when using QuickBooks for Mac: Troubleshoot Crash Catcher.
Please know that you can always drop by here if you need any help printing your forms. I will be happy to assist you further. Have a wonderful day!
The latest update to QB Mac Desktop 2021 mentioned that it's now compatible with venture. Has anyone tried it? Is it 100% compatible now?
Thanks!
