I am running Quickbooks Desktop 2021. I usually have the option to print different copies of the 1099. This year, I only have the option to print 1096 and 1099 Copy A which goes to the IRS and has to be e-filed since I have more than 10 contractors/employees. I do not have the option to print Copy B for the recipient and would like to go ahead and give those out while working on learning to E-file this year. Any suggestions?

Why does Intuit sell 1099 Copy B for QB Desktop but there is no option to print the 1099 Copy B from 2022 QB Desktop?
Hi there, accounting1025.
I'm here to share some details about printing your 1099 Copy B in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
We can print you 1099s in QBDT. However, the process depends on whether you e-filed them or not.
If you've created and e-filed your forms, you can view, print, email, or mail them. Follow the steps below to perform any of these actions:
If you don't see your forms or don't know if they were submitted yet, please look under Forms, then View/Edit/Submit Forms. Select payer, tax year, and form type. The screen will show any forms not yet filed to the IRS.
For more details, please see this article: Where Can I See My Submitted Forms?.
In case you didn’t e-file your 1099s, you'll need to purchase your 1099 Kit so you can print them. Once you have the kit, please follow the steps below:
Please keep me posted if you have additional questions about printing payroll forms. I'm always here to help you out.
I am in the same boat as the other two users, however I use Quickbooks Online, which shouldn't need any updates. There is no option to print Copy B which I'm required to send to contractors. I've searched several times through the instructions and this is not addressed.
How can we print Copy B of our 1099s?
Thank you.

Hey y'all, In the past when I've printed 1099's, the blank forms were pre printed with "copy A", Copy B, etc. I would put the copy A forms in the printer, and print the details on it, then put in the B forms, and so on. To my understanding that is still how it works. I did not do the process this year and my team actually e-filed. They said e-filing had a learning curve but they figured it out and said it was way better than printing and mailing.
