I am having the same problem with multiple attempts at uninstall, removing email and adding back, using file doctor, using tool hub, sending file to date services to check (tested fine not corrupt). The only thing our users can't do is email invoices. It crashes. We can email all other forms, payment links, quotes, receipts, reports etc.
Why can't intuit fix this?
I was also told when on 2021 the only solution was to upgrade to a "subscription". I believe this problem began around the time Intuit wanted to go the subscription route with no dedicated support. I quit using them for payroll because I would always get QBO only when I called and I do not use QBO I use Quickbooks Premier. Was on QB desktop forced to switch to subscription and problem not resolved after forking out $2,500 and being told 2021 was not supported when it is supported until May 2024.
I am not happy about my wasted money, down time and loss of business.
I hear your sentiments, @hgrimm.

I have done this more times than I can count with no resolution. My ticket always ends up getting closed if they even open one with no solution.
Also data services took my file for a week and verified it is not corrupt including the templates.
I have also done this countless times and it is still happening for me as well. STOP with the generic answers to this issue, it's NOT helpful. As tech support you definitely don't have the answer to the problem, I've spoken to over 10 folks in tech support since 2020. Admit that you haven't fixed it and it's obviously not a priority, or don't respond at all to the complaints, because responding with the same answer repeatedly is making it even more frustrating.

I just started having this same issue a few weeks back. Have tried all the fixes in this thread. Have turned off McAfee and tried. Still crashing when trying to send an invoice.
Desktop version worked well for three years, and now all of a sudden this issue is causing me headaches. Have invested far too many hours already trying to fix. Seems like others have grown frustrated, and nobody has the solution.
I can completely relate to it. It’s always a bad experience when something like this happens. Stephen.
I have other troubleshooting steps that you can perform when you experience this crashing issue.
Most QuickBooks users encounter QuickBooks crashes when emailing invoices. This usually arises when emailing customers or clients and happens after pressing the OK button. The error even continues even after performing various measures like using the diagnostic tool, renaming, updating, or repairing the file.
We can try these solutions to make sure it fixes the issue. This way we'll be able to follow a systematic process that we can use to locate the cause of a fault and correct relevant if this is something to do with the hardware and software issues essential to successful resolution.
But first, ensure to update QuickBooks Desktop for better security of data, gives error-free user knowledge, and helps resolve difficulties to some common security loops and bugs. Then, update Microsoft Outlook. This way, you'll be able to set up a mail profile and able to connect to a mailbox. I've outlined the steps to show you how to update:
Once done, you can set up Outlook as the default mail app and add an email account. After that, you can now toggle the mail settings. To give you a clearer picture, you can also take a look starting from Solution 3 of this article to make sure you've followed the correct process: Crash: Com Error In QuickBooks Desktop.
Moreover, once everything will start working again, you can now process payments in QuickBooks Desktop and learn when you will receive the payment. Read this article for more details: Take And Process Payments In QuickBooks Desktop.

QB Pro 2019. These are small files - one or two line invoices.
Same problem here for years. I am down to sending 50 invoices at a time max before it crashes. what used to take me a few minutes to send out invoices is now an 8 hour task. Plus, you can't do anything in QB while it is sending out invoices, so I am losing 8 hours of work. To top it off, when it does crash I don't know who received theri bill or not, so this causes even more unnecessary hours of calls and emails from unhappy customer not receiving their invoices.
I have tried QB support multiple times, updating program, restoring program, reinstalling, a fresh template, in single and multi user mode, try when everyone has left the office, different email, and the list goes on. When it comes down to it it's their software that is the issue. You would think as long as they have been around they would have a well rounded quality product. The email performance is about as good as a 71' Ford Pinto and a 76' Chevette. So frustrating how much of a time suck it is to sending invoices.
It's not the impression we want you to have, NightOfBooks.
Your sentiments about the issue that prevents you from sending invoices are understandable.

I can't believe this is how QB keeps responding. The answers are jokes, and none of them work. They have shifted the blame to Parallels, Thunderbird, Outlook, and everything inbetween. The fact that is a problem dating back at least 4 years with no fix, I cant wrap my brain around this. Your support staff is a joke, your product is joke. Fix the issue and stop blaming everyone else. It's your problem not anyone elses. I want this fix and I am tired of spending hours on the line with support to do nothing.
I am on QB Desktop Premier. I am getting this unrecoverable error also. This happens when I try to email anything. In the troubleshooting instructions it has you go to Preferences, Send Forms. When I do that it crashes too. I cannot get there to change anything. It also crashes with the same error when downloading transactions. I get the download and it shows I have two transactions. If I try to view them it crashes. I was on the phone with support and they are trying to tell me it is a windows problem on my system. Evidently not since there are a lot more people having the same issue. Does anyone know when this will be resolved? It is greatly impacting my work flow.
Thanks for joining the thread and sharing what you've done to address the issue, @smorgan01.
Since you keep getting the unrecoverable error, I'd suggest running the QuickBooks File Doctor from QuickBooks Tool Hub. This helps fix common errors within the company file so you can get back to work.
First, download the most recent version (1.6.0.3) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub and save the file somewhere you can easily find it. Once done, download the file and install it on your computer. After that, follow steps two and three of this article to fix the errors in QuickBooks Desktop: How to use File Doctor to fix company file issues in QBDT.
If you're still getting the same results, I recommend contacting our customer support again. They can help further review your account and investigate the issue. Here's how to connect with them:
Once your customer receives their email and pays the invoice, you can now record the payment inside QuickBooks.

Please let me know if you have additional questions about sending invoices to your customers or viewing your downloaded transactions. I'll be here to assist you further. Have a good one.
This has been an ongoing problem FOR YEARS. I upgraded to QB Enterprise last year, emailing without crashing seemed to improve over the last few months, and today I can't send a single email via QB without the system crashing. This is the worst performance to date. I have run the diagnostics, set up a dummy file to see if my file is corrupt--everything is fine on my end. This is absolutely unacceptable.
Try running Verify/Rebuild Data Utility. Did you encounter any error message?
Rather than suggesting fixes from users, how about escalating this to the development team. I am sure that this is reproducible and with code debugging turned on, is fixable.
I went on vacation hoping that the recent updates might address this issue, but still completely broken. Yes, I ran rebuild/verify, QB toolhub, virus protection is off, created a dummy file, all the things that the interwebs has to offer up and no, no errors. Does anyone have workaround suggestions or alternate software for invoicing customers?
I recognize the urgency of getting this issue about invoices fixed, @sequin2000K.

I'm having a similar issue where I can not send my invoices. I get an error box that pops up and says Unrecoverable Error. After searching around, I went to Preferences and Send Form and the minute i click on it, I get the same Unrecoverable Error box. So it appears to have something to do with sending forms. I've upgraded from Quickbooks Desktop Pro Plus 2023 to 2024 and ran several updates and nothing has changed it. Any suggestions what else to try?
We had been running QB for Windows on a Mac using Parallels for over 10 years without issues. But in 2020, we started having issues. The issues only got work worse, to the point where were we purchased a new Windows computer, the only one in the company. All crashes sending forms and creating pdf's along with other issues was resolved.
I appreciate you for sharing that you've run several updates to rectify the error, @WPETC007. I'll share additional troubleshooting so you can send invoices successfully in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
