Join nowI tried to file 1099s for several different companies via one Quickbooks Online Accountant account. The customer service told me to edit company info every time I start to prepare 1099 for a separete company. However, after I did so and finished all the steps and the page goes to intuit 1099 e-file service, it seems that the compnay info there didn't change accordingly. So I manually edited the information in order to file returns for the second company, while I found the payer for the previous submitted returns also switched to the second company if I click to download the copies. So I'm wondering if I can file 1099s for different companies by one QBO account this way. Because Quickbooks said it will print and mail the copies to all the contractors, but if all the 1099 forms changes every time I edit the company info, how can Quickbooks send the correct one? And for thoes contractos I provided their email address, will they receive the correct ones online?
Thanks for the detailed information, zoe_wsj.
Yes, you're on the right track. After filing the 1099 to one company, make sure to log out the 1099 e-file service page and start editing to another company to file for 1099 once again. Let's also ensure to send it with the correct data.

So Quickbooks will record the correct data every time I submit 1099 and later print and mail it to the contractors once I make sure to log out the 1099 e-file service page? Do I also need to sign out the QBO account first and re sign in before editing to another company? Because the 1099 e-file service page comes out separately once you click on "continue to e-file" at step 5.
Thanks for coming back,
Your data is safe when Intuit transmits 1099s via E-file, we comply with all IRS requirements in Publication 1220. QuickBooks Online (QBO) only reflect the data on 1099 based on the vendor transactions you entered in the program. With that said, it would be best to review first if the information is correct before creating and filing1099 in QBO. Also, make sure that you have reviewed the 1099 forms before submitting them as we do not handle corrected forms.
To file 1099s for a separate company, once you’ve logged into the Intuit 1099 E-File Service you'll see the last company you filed for on the Toolbar. Just select the dropdown and then "Add another Intuit 1099 E-File Service Subscription”. This will give you a page to begin entering the next company's information. Then, each subscription for each company is a separate fee.
On the other hand, when preparing 1099 forms, if you choose not to e-file with Intuit, just print out copies to mail and complete your filing with the IRS, plus print and send a copy to each of your contractors. For more details about this one, see the How do I print my 1099 forms? article.

Thank you for the information. However, when the page jumps to 1099 e-file service, there is no company I filed for shown on the Toobar and I can't find where to "Add another Intuit 1099 E-File Service Subscription". Please see below
