How to stop popups?

I can help you turn off pop-up messages in QuickBooks Desktop, nancyl.

Notices serve as a helpful reminder on the system. You can hide them if you keep seeing these popup ads over and over.

Here's how to turn off product and service pop-up:

  1. Open your QuickBooks and go to Edit menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Then choose General on the left-side panel.
  4. Click the My Preferences folder.
  5. Check the box next to Turn off popup messages for products and services.
  6. Once done, click OK.

Restart QuickBooks for this change to take effect.

How to stop popups?

Hello!

This solution doesn't seem to help my with Quickbooks Online.  How do I get rid of the pop-up marketing offers permanently ... I am so tired of them, I am ready to go through the hassle of finding a new accounting software.  Help!

How to stop popups?

Currently, there isn't an option to permanently get rid of the pop-up messages in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @GiantEyeRoll. Let me share further details about this.

The steps provided above are for the desktop version of QuickBooks. That's why they don't apply to your QBO account. The pop-up messages are ads that guide and suggest how to optimize your QBO experience. As of the moment, you'll have to manually close the ads or pop-up by clicking the "X" or "Close" button to prevent it from showing again. Please see the screenshot below for your reference.

We share the latest news, features, and product upgrades through our blog. To keep you updated, I'd recommend visiting the page through this article: The QuickBooks Blog.

Please don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you have other concerns about managing the growth of your business using QBO. I'm just around to help. Take care always.

How to stop popups?

Hi Barb2244!

Intuit offers multiple services to help you grow and your business. The pop-up notifies you of the new services and other reminders. Let me help you with turning it off.

The steps shared by my colleague, by checking the Turn off popup messages for products and services box, should stop the pop-ups. Since you're still getting them, make sure to update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

Also, you'll want to run the rebuild tool to fix issues on the company file. Before that, make sure to create a backup file.

  1. From the File menu, select Utilities, then choose Verify Data.
  2. Wait for it to load.
  3. Go back to the File menu, Utilities, then Rebuild Data.
  4. Select OK, then Rebuild Now.

When can we disable these annoying ads? We already pay for your services, why do you continue to advertise your services to us??

I am having the same horrible time with these ads.  It is beyond ridiculous!!!!  Each bill that I enter a pop up for new bill paying services enters.  I read it and close.  But once i have the information, I should be able to select, do not show this message again because I have received the new information.  But Intuit keeps popping up the message every single bill that I enter.  This makes me want to quit using this annoying software.  I do not understand why QB has chosen to become completely rude and annoying to its customers.  Find a solution.

I wish I could make it better, @bookeeping girl.

As of the moment, there isn't an integrated way to turn off and get rid of the pop messages in the QuickBooks Desktop. You're on the right track in closing them so you can continue creating your bill entries.

Thus, I'd recommend sharing your request directly with our product developers by sending feedback. Let me show you how.

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online.
  3. Click Product Suggestion.
  4. Under Product Area, select Product Updates.
  5. On the Here is my suggestion: field, describe your request. Say an option not to receive in-product promotions.
  6. Select Send Feedback.
  7. Click Close Window.

On top of that, here's a couple of articles you can read helpful in keeping you up-to-date with the latest software improvements and enhancements:

Keep in touch if you need any more assistance with this, or there's something else I can do for you. I've got your back. Stay safe!

I am using Quickbooks Pro 2020.  I followed the steps given by you to turn of pop-up marketing messages.  It does not work.  As feedback, they are very annoying and distracting.  It seems that most users don't find them to be helpful, despite what you may believe.

Your solution does not work.  I had already seen this solution in earlier posts but it does not work.  These are marketing messages that are a total nuisance.  There is a checkbox in the message that says, "Do not show again" (or something to that extent) but that does not work either.  The message keeps repeating for a week or so and then goes away till you decide to push another product or added service.  Great product.  Horrible customer interaction/support.

This "preferences menu" solution does not work, mine is set to turn off all pop ups and STILL DAILY the "dIscOvEr sEAsoNaL hIriNg TiPs" NONSENSE pops up daily sometimes will not go away even when the X is clicked to close it either an half the time will crash it. Premier 2021 lol "premier" but I still have daily spam from Intuit. K. God I hate Qbs.

How to stop popups?

We pay a pretty hefty monthly sum for QuickBooks Online. I have always used the QB Online app for PCs but recently lost the app and now have to use QB in my browser. I can now see why QuickBooks no longer supports the QuickBooks Online for PC app... it didn't annoy me with constant popup ads for QB services that I do not want and will never choose to buy.

I have been using QB Online in my browser for only 1 day and I am getting sooo annoyed at QB for forcing me to view these ads.

Please please please either update QuickBooks Online to allow for opting out of these ads or bring back the great -- and dearly missed -- QuickBooks Online app for PCs!

Pease stop with the SPAM. Like others have said, we pay for QB Online and should NOT be subjected to the constant ads for products we will never use.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community, room4chester.

We recognize the need to disable these ads permanently. QuickBooks use in-product ads to help optimize your QuickBooks experience by suggesting new features and program updates that's timely relevant.

I understand how beneficial it is to have the ability to customize ads in the program. Right now, stopping the ads from popping up in QuickBooks for Mac is unavailable.

We take your suggestion as a guide on which area of the product we should improve. I’ll submit feedback on your behalf about this feature for consideration in future updates.

Your voice is important to us, and we take any feedback as an opportunity to guide us on which area of the product we need to improve on.

We share recent happenings and future developments on our blog. Through this, you're able to get the latest news about QuickBooks and what our Product Care Team is working on.

This doesn't work on the new "discovery hub" or "do you want to switch to online" nonsense. No. With 50 individual companies online would cost thousands of dollars a month. How do I stop those annoying messages?
