Join nowHi,
I created an .IIF file following the instructions in the Import Kit. When I use Utilities>Import>IIF Files and select the file, I receive the File Imported window right away. I select "OK" and check what was imported and find that nothing imported.
Can you please help me figure the issue out?
Thank you.
Hi CTacata,
Let’s check to see if the issue is coming from your company file, your QuickBooks, or in the IIF file.
You can create a dummy company file and import your IIF file data. If all goes well, you can go back to your original company and run the Verify and Rebuild utilities. The Verify utility checks for errors and the Rebuild utility fixes them.
If the same thing happens in the dummy company file, you can update QuickBooks to make sure it has the latest fixes.
After restarting, you can import your data again. If the same thing happens, please try our sample IIF file in the dummy company to see if you can successfully import the data. If yes, we can conclude that this has something to do with your IIF file. You can create another one from where you got it and import it to QuickBooks. If not, please call our Support to check your QuickBooks. They can use a screen-sharing tool to see your setup and investigate this further.
On the other hand, if you need references on the window that is currently opened in QuickBooks, just press F1.
If you have other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out.
Typically this means the file isn't formatted properly and so QB doesn't actually see anything to import in the file. In such a case it will still tell you everything was import, which really means everything it found for import (nothing) is imported.
One thing to check, for example, is that you have a new line character after the ENDTRNS row.
